Yes Sheils when we say the bus knocked it means they took the 10.30 and we had to wait for the 11. It went into town but didn't come back. Why? what expression do you use in Scotland?

I didn't understand knocked back either re buses but thank you for explaining. In my part of the country it would prob be called a 'bummer' :eek: if that occurred - and it has many a time! Excuse my naughty term, alf is feeling a bit rebellious today! :D

I'm ok sylv re ladder, it's fairly small and am on sturdy ground, but thank you for your concerns. However, I have finished now for the day because the weather has turned and not very nice now so ..... scuttled in to find me cat watching and waiting for me to come in, great welcome from her :):)

Please do have a glass FF. Wish we could share some of the prizes sometimes. Glad you can use all that garlic. DH is rationed with garlic as he seems to retain the smell for ages! :eek:

No I don't have a loyalty card Sheils, didn't know about them either. We don't have a Beefeater near here but there is one just this side of Wetherby so will probably use it on the way down or back. Will have a glass of your wine too if thats OK.

Yes firefly had noticed, I don't say much but I don't miss much either.

Glad you are down those ladders now Alfie, you do worry me with them after last time.

Talking of the bus knocking - what do you folks call a broom handle where you come from? I was brought up in the Midlands and it was always know as a stale! Its funny how we all call things by different names.
