Sheils, hope the cacti flower comes out again - they are lovely when they bloom.
My mum and dad years back seemed to have a lot of cacti - some bloomed (often just every so many years), some bloomed yearly and some were rather spiteful

Can recall me mum picking out little cactus barb things from me hand (with tweezers) after I had an unfortunate accident with one of them years back!!!! Nasty spiky thing!!!!
