Thought that was really funny too Suewilly1. Don't know why the assistant thought she wouldn't be able to afford it as she was obviously American and wandering about Zurich so probably not poor. Shop owner is saying it was all a misunderstanding. :rotfl:

Hi everyone, not quite sure whether it is going to rain or shine here today. DD & GK going home later today but maybe do something first.

firefly - hope you got your logging in thing sorted out and well done on the sun shades.

Shiels - hope DD has a good time at the festival and that she gets back OK. I can understand how you worry though, I was the same when mine were young. Well done on the £10 coming and the sunshades. Only did the wine comp once can't even remember what time it was and didn't realise I had even won. Think its like that sometimes with the instants you do them so quick and don't expect to win that you miss it:) It would probably have been sometime towards lunch time I expect.

Wingo - looked for you in Seaton yesday, we had a lovely time. Hope you have a lovely time at Whitby, didn't realise it was only a bus ride from where you are. We can get to South Sheils on the but just down the road from us.

LM - glad you managed to get out and get some nice things.

SM - thanks for the comp and hope DH is feeling better.

Morning, hope everyone is well. It felt strange sleeping at home last night after two weekends in a tent.

I'm off to Bruges on Monday - Friday and then to the Shambala festival the following Thursday - Monday. Despite the time off I have managed to keep on top of my workload and the majority of my colleagues are off for the next fortnight so my inbox shouldn't be too full upon my return!

I've been gong to the Co-op daily to get more bargains before they close 'for a refurb' on Tuesday (latest bargains include 4 packs of Quorn burgers 50p, frozen mixed veg 60p, Branston relish 25p, breakfast biscuits 45p and a box of wine £7, I'll bring that to the festival )

Also had another goodreads book win today

Going to B&M and Asda today to do some holiday and festival shopping.

Well, been hovering for a few days and you lot seem a friendly bunch so gonna jump right in!!
Love reading all your animal stories....and about your travels
I have a lovely dog.....just got back from the days walk. She is a spaniel so needs at least a couple of miles a day. I guess if you have a working dog, you have to put in the time and energy!!
Envy some of you living in the countryside. I have to walk a few miles to get there but it has bonuses. A good friend spotted an otter on one of our walks recently, so keeping fingers crossed.
Not too good at comping but do love a bargain!!

Hi! How lovely and welcome to The Inn - we are a fab bunch here and love to chat, laugh - put the world to rights.

I used to have a beautiful spaniel - know what you mean about walkies - working dog.

Luckily I do live in the countryside but my wee boy would insist in checking his 'wee mails' every couple of yards!! Walkies took some time :rotfl::rotfl:

He also walked with his nose, if that makes sense? Nose to the ground, taking in all the smells! Guess that is why they make brilliant sniffer dogs with military, police etc.

How lovely to see an otter - we used to see lots of wildlife but snakes were/are a wee bit of a problem. Not the snakes' fault, but come summer they like to come out and take in the warmth. Usually warning posters are put up, particularly good for visitors who may not be aware.

Great story on Oprah SueWilly! I would love to do that if I won lottery, I would go in a posh store in my jeans and t-shirt and when they looked me up and down in a disgusted look....I'd count my wads of money out ten walk out!

Just round the corner from me there is a bus that goes fairly straight through to Whitby then onto Scarborough. We could also get the train that stops ten mins away from me too but it seemed longer on the train last time for some reason and it was very noisy!

You've got a busy schedule ahead of you paadzer! Sounds good fun!

I got an email from the lotto ...exciting news about my ticket....:j I forgot I put a euro online, I won £6.40 I hope you've won the biggie ILC!

Used to have a cross collie years back - beautiful boy, initially chewed the house to bits but he got over that eventually.

He loved to be involved with family life and craved attention. Loved playing with the kids, have some beaut photos of them together, years back. Fond memories - he lived to a grand old age, was a wonderful character!!
