The Compers Inn part 41

Evening everyone. The in-laws babysat Dex this afternoon so that Sam could take me out to The Mall as a little treat (and so I could spend my Hobbycraft vouchers!) It was good to get out. With the vouchers I bought Dex a 100 year diary which I'm going to start for him and then when he's older, he can carry it on himself. Each double page is a season and it has parts which you fill in about how you felt and what your best memories are etc. Thought it would be quite a nice keepsake for him. Also bought some Sharpies and some cooking things. From The Mall itself I bought some Batman leggings, a Thor graphic novel, some things from Superdrug and some instrument toys for Dex. Productive shopping trip. So shattered now and will be feeling it for quite a while but it was good to get out rather than having to rely on online shopping. There's just something nice about physically going and getting something. No idiots walked into me in my wheelchair either, which is a bonus.

Sounds like a good night out that your DD is going to Sheils I wish my DD was more outgoing like yours!
I'm trying to persuade DH into taking us to Whitby for the regatta over this weekend. I might just get on bus with kids to go.

My DD has had me playing chess earlier! it's got to be the most boring game ever!! I don't even know how to play properly!

Looking OK here again this morning so hope it stays that way for DDs festival. Sometimes wish DD wasn't as out going wingo.
I remember how bad the traffic was last year when we were trying to get passed Whitby so you might be better on the bus if you go there today. We enjoyed our visit there on Monday.

Well done on winning the wine again Sylvia. How many times have you won it? I take it they still have the same winning time. Can't believe they haven't changed it after all the bother with the same family winning it all the time.

Glad other peeps forget what clothes they have too FF! I could understand it more if I had as many clothes as DD but I don't bother that much.

I was having bother in IE with the videos on WOTV this morning so tried them on Chrome and they are working fine. Don't know if anyone else was having bother.

Grey here at the moment but it started off like this yesterday and then brightened up by the time we were going out. We had a good time and met lots of people we know but haven't seen for a while.

Ok, this has nothing whatsoever to do with food, pubs, drinks, etc but it's just the sort of thing I'd talk about in the pub with my 'ladies what lunch' pals. So I thought I'd share it.

I was watching the news last night and laughed at the story that a shopkeeper in Switzerland refused to sell Oprah Winfrey a $25,000 bag on the grounds that it would be 'too expensive for her'....I wonder whether Oprah was tempted to do that line from Pretty Woman when Julia Roberts goes back into the shop loaded up with bags from designer stores and says 'you work on commission don't you? Big mistake'

I've ALWAYS wanted to do that when I've had a snotty person serve me....only 2 things prevent me...

1. I can't afford to shop at designer stores and going back into a posh shop loaded down with Primark bags wouldn't have the same effect
2. I'm far too nice to be rude to anyone - even if they have been rude first :-)
