Has anyone ever won anything on the lottery?

Hi everyone, as the title says I was just wondering if anyone had ever won anything on the lottery? We've just started playing it and excitedly check our tickets every Saturday (we also pick 3 numbers for the Irish lottery). I'm not too sure how long it will stay exciting for but someone has to win it!

My aunt won the very first draw, and received I think something along the lines of £4,000.

As it was the first draw, there was media coverage and it was delivered to her door by limousine. I'm guessing this was the case for all that won a 'significant' figure in the first draw.

She still plays every week, as does her sister. They're the only people I know that play, but since that first draw they've only won the occasional £10.

I can't imagine how much it must have cost them to continually take part. Still, they end up happy with the wins they do have, and they can afford it.

The people that bought our house won £750,000 a few years ago, a neighbour who lives a couple of streets away wond £2.5 million, sadly the local luck doesn't seem to have reached me yet!
