Same here! Trousers and skirts are embroidered with the school logo, and we get to pay the princely sum of £27 per pair for the pleasure. My DS can ruin a pair in no time because he trips and falls alot and can put holes in them in no time.
I do believe it's something that can't be enforced but the alternative is flouting the rules and make your child stick out like a sore thumb? My DS2 will do enough of that thanks to his autism, so I don't want to make it any worse
:eek:OMG, £27.00 for a pair of trousers, we can buy plain supermarket trousers, but everything else, jumpers, shirts, p e kit including socks all are embroided.

DS school has just changed the uniform again.
New logo so whole new load of stuff
I count myself lucky though as they're allowed a 2 year overlap (apart from Septembers intake) and only certain parts of the uniform are compulsary (we live in a scummy area where everybody can afford diddly squat :D )
Still a new blazer is gonna set me back north of £30

I've got to ask though, are all these schools everyones ranting about Academies? DS school is :(

    Ours yes is an academy.

Yes our school is the same, they say we are not even allowed to buy school shirts or trousers from supermarkets as not school regulation, I have known some children to be sent home because the school has said their uniform is not up to scratch. It is disgusting the prices of it all.

Our school is the complete opposite. We have the sweatshirt and rugby shirt that has to have the logo on, all the rest can come from anywhere they like as long as it conforms to our criteria - we make a point of saying it is a very cheap uniform

My Ds1 went to a different school and Im sure I must have had similar expense with his uniform when he started? I can't remember being so shocked then. Probably because I used to spend money like it was water back then  My DD school are much more relaxed and I have alot more choice with her stuff.
