I do believe it's something that can't be enforced but the alternative is flouting the rules and make your child stick out like a sore thumb? My DS2 will do enough of that thanks to his autism, so I don't want to make it any worseDS school has just changed the uniform again.
New logo so whole new load of stuff
I count myself lucky though as they're allowed a 2 year overlap (apart from Septembers intake) and only certain parts of the uniform are compulsary (we live in a scummy area where everybody can afford diddly squat)
Still a new blazer is gonna set me back north of £30
I've got to ask though, are all these schools everyones ranting about Academies? DS school is
Ours yes is an academy.0 -

It is disgusting the prices of it all.
Our school is the complete opposite. We have the sweatshirt and rugby shirt that has to have the logo on, all the rest can come from anywhere they like as long as it conforms to our criteria - we make a point of saying it is a very cheap uniform0 -

My Ds1 went to a different school and Im sure I must have had similar expense with his uniform when he started? I can't remember being so shocked then. Probably because I used to spend money like it was water back then  My DD school are much more relaxed and I have alot more choice with her stuff.0 -
