I have decided my 5:2 starts today.
Realised all I have had so far today was a skinny latte at 89cals and have lots of whoopsied fruit.
I rarely eat before 6pm anyway but my downfall is crisps while cooking dinner and late night snacking.
Stirfrying chicken in cajun spice along with sweet and low (usually use sugar) and 1 fluid once of orange juice. Will have with green salad and no dressing.
Later I will munch on 200gm of strawberries and grapes and if desperate at bedtime a 40 cal hot chocolate.
Will try to avoid the danger time by getting to sleep early if I can. If not will just have to drink water.
I have a diet sprite here and have been upping my fluids in preparation.
Main thing changing for me today is the 2 cans of fat coke I would normally drink in the evening.
Like the idea of fruit icecubes in water so have just made some stawberry and melon ones.

    Good luck everyone.

I think I am up to 600 calories now. Hope I manage the next 5 hours with no food. Having said that I do have a killer headache and I feel it could be hunger related.

Really struggled at work where everyone was chucking pop and crisps down their greedy holes. They all MEGALOL'd at me when I told them about the 5:2 diet. Apparently I am skinny as it is. Wish I could see where I was skinny, all I see is generous parts all over!

Hope everyone else has managed OK. Not sure how I am going to manage another day like this again this week! Eeeeek.

Well done mimi - when you step on the scales you will be chuffed and it does get easier. :T

DS has a dummy for bed at night and so for the last few days, Ive been suggesting that we give it up. So tonight, we hung his dummy on a tree in the garden, because the dummy fairy is going to collect it tonight and leave a present in its place for DS. We looked at it out of the window after his bath, all was going swimmingly. and then he got into bed and said "where is my dummy?" :rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, no bother, he is fast asleep now and OH has come back from ToysRUs with a new character from Thomas the tank :T easy peasy!

For those getting the meal deal in T, and looking for 6 fillers plus your bag re-use at a non-SS till, I have listed some fillers that are cheap priced in A together with the small amount of losses to be offset (as T charging you more than Avs someone else with 10% would be). In effect, add the 'loss' figures to the £6.61 - the aim being to "lose" as little as possible and get that meal deal for the lowest cost. (Nor do we want to be paying T for much else other than the meal deal, as that's all we want.)

    1 x pack of chicken in a lemon herb breadcrumbs 5.50T n/a A
    1 x Montepulciano D'Abruzzo* 7.99T 5.00A
2 x ultimate new york cheesecake slices (vanilla)* 5.20T 4.80A

    £10.00 £6.61 (equivalent price)

    Plus:
T Eday Value Batter Mix (128g)
15p 7p (loss 0.7p) Loss compared to A 7p vs M (presumably still) 7p. Northern Ireland - Tvs A is your best option in any event.
    Haribo Maoam Giant Stripes
10p N/A Only buy one - we're not interested in giving T £1.00 (for buying 11, on any 11 for £1.00) when we only need to give 10p. But... that's another slight loss to be taken account of as we're being charged 10p rather than 9.09090909...p that it would cost if we bought 11 (at £1.00:eek:) - add a loss of 0.9090909...p to your running total.
Haribo Maoam Giant Sour Stripes (15g)
10p N/A Another 'loss' of 0.9090909...p! Plus a further loss of about 6.625p as this is 10p for a small pack as opposed to getting a 200g Haribo pack (albeit different one) on Avs M and having it compare to 50p thus 45p for 200g. 10p for 15g - what a rip-off!:rotfl:Should be 3.375p for 15g on the same pricing (45p/200g*15g). Or even more of a loss than if you could get 200g+ bags of sweets on RTC for less than 45p.
T Eday Value New Potatoes in Water (567g)
15p 14p This is a complicated one as T is actually somewhat more weight than A's version (but still within 10% weight range) and we're hoping T compares to A's price and without weight adjustment. This needs weighing up (no pun intended):D against A 14p vs S 14p being 1.4p off (and shopping at T 'losing' you that) - but the weight of Sains. equiv. needs to be checked as there may be some weight adjustment to account for there too. I'll do the calcs, work it out and remove all this verbiage once I've done it.
T Eday Value Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce (410g)
15p 15p But A's version is 395g, so you haven't actually lost 1.5p compared to what you would have had if you had bought equiv. Avs T (although there's probably some weight adjustment to account for there too, which might well amount to the same thing?) and doesn't matter if T PP doesn't pick up the A S/P equivalent.
    Finally our good old friend...:T
    Barratt Mallow Twists Flump:D
10p 10p (lose 1p straight, plus lose a bit more as our flump is small compared to a pack of Mallow sweets for less per g. But then we aren't having to pay T tens of pence that it would normally cost to get a pack)

Plus bag re-use. Do not use SS tills as this doesn't count there.

    Alternatives:
Could not a purchase of a reusable bag (they are 6p in my A - don't know if T has any as cheap as that and they presumably don't compare on PP as not grocery) count as one of the 10 items
Reusable bag 6p vs N/A???? Yet still one of the 10? But buying a bag and getting away with reusing one of your own bags at the same time?
Any whoopsied items you find at very low price (not exceeding 9p) in T which have no equivalent avail. in A - but you'd then have to have a walking encyclopaedic knowledge of which items they are (sadly not even I have that feat) as well as fit in it with what you happen to find on whoops. Remember each different non-comp whoops counts as a sep. item! Are whoops in or out of T PP? (Semi-rhetorical question, if any such a thing is possible.)

Noticed MSM logged out has no 10p sweets available for T now (and having to go by logged-in), suggesting T has removed the 10p sweets off its website temporarily, hindering us working out what they are! Hopefully and presumably though, they will have the sweets in-store (at the 10p price!).

[Last edit: apart from the calcs on some of the items above - I am adding no more, as we've got the 10 and don't need any more. Best of luck - know T always tries to thwart things like this and possibly fail to find the A S/P Batter Mix now and keep the 8p to itself! They like money these money-making companies, whose aim is to make a profit, i.e. make money (a certain circularity there!)]

I am now reading back to see what coke are comparing at vs sada when doing a t's shop...can any of you help me with this ebfore i do my online checkout?

question for you all...How comes the coke 2litre bottles are comparing well on an apg shop vs tosco's (i see many of you have posted results) as I thought BOGOF's don't compare?
If I buy 2 bottles of diet coke, will they comp at £1.98 v £3.50 to sada's then?

also is it worth chucking in some 20p harpic stuff to see if it apg's on my online shop?

    tia xx
