You know, thats a good point. The neighbour had a goose, well gander actually, that was an even better guard dog than her 2 dogs. The gander's mate died last year, and after a brief mourning he spent his days shepherding the chickens about. Sadly the gander died last week ( 24+ years old!) so that may be why the fox could get so close. I think my neighbour will be getting geese again soon now, and in the meantime we are going to see if the fox can be sorted out by some hunter friends of hers too.fairclaire wrote: » :( It's something I worry about. The discussion re the males urinating to deter the fox is amusing me.....
Men aren't the only gender that need to expel urine! The mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work unless it's open0

Yes, but it is a bit subtler and aiming is easier if you are male.... although I have heard about these devices that allow women to stand aim and fire too! TMI !! I think the fox can smell the MALE smell too.The discussion re the males urinating to deter the fox is amusing me.....

or alternatively, go to bed early! Best of luck everyone.

Yes, only adult men should mark the garden as foxes smell the pheromones........didn't work well in my garden , we are in town and are overrun with foxes, squirells and badgers.0
