Questions about the Three Euro Internet Pass
I'm going on holiday abroad in a couple of weeks, and am considering using Three's Euro Internet Pass. I've got a couple of questions:
- Is the data really unlimited, or is there an acceptable use policy?
- What data speed am I likely to get? I appreciate that this will vary depending on the local network, but is it artificially limited too? Is it fast and stable enough to use Skype and streaming radio services?

From three.co.uk/europass:
You can search, tweet, use Facebook and check your emails as much as you like until midnight (UK time).
The Euro Internet Pass was designed for browsing, so streaming video and audio content may not be as good as it is on our UK network and tethering isn’t included.0 -
A final question not really related to Three. In Android 4.1, is there a way to block specific apps from using data temporarily? I'll need to turn on data to buy the pass, and as soon as I do all the apps that would normally use data in the background will start doing so and I'll be charged at standard roaming rate. I'm looking for a way to only let the browser connect until the pass is active, then let everything else connect.
There is, sort of, at least on my 4.1.1 handset.
Go to Settings/More in Wireless & Networks/Data Usage.
Below the graph is a list of apps that have used data. You can select each one and tick "Restrict background data".
Long winded but should do what you want. Or there may be an app that does it for you?

Why do you want to pay £5 per day, when £5 on a local SIM card might give you enough data for two weeks?
