Hi Folks,
Received a letter this morning from Flogas (was BP) stating that
our ''...current monthly payment at £105 is insufficient to cover annual consumption...'', now they want to take ''the following actions to remedy the situation''
If the total balance on your account of £138.54 was cleared in full, your monthly instalments only would be £147.00
or
Increased monthly repayments of £159.00 would cover your annual consumption...Alternatively any partial lump sum payments towards the balance on your account would be directly reflected in the required monthly amount''
How wonderful and kind of them!
Getting on the phone morning.
Any thoughts/advice would be very much appreciated.
We have an LPG tank situated in the garden, with 1 year left on the contract.

Has the price gone up or are you using more gas - somehow you've got to pay for what you use so unless you can limit the amount you use then you probably dont have much option.
Have a llok at your contract to see if there are any get out clauses that allow you to move if the price goes up significantlyNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Ok, thanks for that, will need to do some negotiation.0 -
Sounds like your supply (from BP) was taken over by FG? Not sure why this leaves you contractually if you haven't signed a new agreement directly with FG. I suspect you will be stuck with FG for the rest of the year unless they breach the terms of said contract.
Anyways definitely worth negotiating with FG as they will want to keep you so don't be afraid to be pushy. That said, from my experience, I'd look to move supplier as soon as you can as they have one of the worst reputations in the industry and for the LPG industry that's saying something!0 -

Negotiated this morning, a fixed monthly payment for 1 year (we asked for that in writing). All well and good moving to a new supplier but which one?0 -

Excellent result! Which one indeed: better the Devil you know, lesser of two evils, etc etc!
I took the nuclear option and switched to oil to avoid the dilemma
