Spending Money - Do we have enough?

Hi everyone. Me and My husband go to Menorca next month and we have saved up 1000 euro's. At first we was sure that we would have enough but now we are getting closer we are not so sure.
We are going for 11 nights self catering (2 adults and 2 children aged 5 and 1).
We are taking our own baby milk, baby food (baby has a milk allergy), nappies and wipes.
Do you think we will have enough for spends or do you think we are going to need to use our CC's?

These "how much spending money" threads are always a question of how long your piece of string is as everyone has different spending habits. However, since you are going self catering and have very young children I would guess that you are unlikely to be going out to fancy restaurants and drinking cocktails all night. In which case I would say €1000 should be more than enough although it's always wise to take a credit card for emergencies.0

At €1000, you're going to be looking at cooking your own breakfast and lunch, and not too many drinks out, but perfectly possible. Try asking on tripadvisor where the nearest cheap supermarket is to your accommodation.0

I nearly always spend more than I expect/hope.0

You should be ok, unless you go ott on drinks etc.As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0

We very rarely drink alcohol but I have heard soft drinks are really expensive?
Its all so new to me as we have never been abroad before so we arent sure what to expect.*Loosing weight since September 2012 - 85lbs (6st) lost so far*

Without booze, you should be ok.0

Imo, its not a lot, and maybe not enough, it works out around E22 per person, per day. And I'm not sure that's enough, but I could be wrong,0

A grand not enough for 11 nigh SC !!
I must be a lot tighter than even I thought.0 -
I reckon it'll be plenty, I can't see a 1 & 5 yr old being heavy on funds0

We always take 500 Euros and bring a bit home when self catering. That's going out for a drink all 7 nights and just doing our own food in the apartments. Given that we spend around 20 Euros a day for food/soft drinks/water etc. that leaves 360 Euros for drinks at night. More than enough. We only drink beer and only go to bars where the prices are reasonable.
If we go to Benidorm we spend even less as you can STILL get a large cold beer for 1 Euro!0
