got 2 tickets

hi everyone,

i got 2 tickets in the space of 2 weeks a few months ago and after reading some stuff on this site i decided i will just ignore. but now things seem to be getting out of hand. get a letter every other day from one or the other.

1st ticket: UK Parking Control

2 minutes before argos was closing i parked in a disabled bay, i dont normally park in disabled bays but the whole car park was empty and there were other disabled bays even closer to the door of argos. IMO wasnt immoral or disruptive to anyone. came back and saw ticket on my car.

2nd ticket: Euro Car Parks LTD

Was waiting for a friend around 1AM for around half an hour. Car park was completely empty except for one or two cars. Never left the car at any point either.

From everything I have read, I should continue to ignore them. However the amount of letters I am getting is a bit ridiculous. Furthermore I am worried debt collectors are going to turn up at my door and scare my elderly parents.

My question is can I write a letter saying this person does not live here any more? or something like leave me alone. etc.

Thanks in advance

Them have never really done court (to date) so ignore is your only viable option, unless you want to fund this scam by paying. Please don't do that as these two are pretty tame as things go.

You probably got roxburghe/graham white or debt recovery plus/zenith collections chasing you, each pair above are the same company, and have no powers to do anything, they can't even take you to court themselves.

  • yes, roxburghe/graham white and debt recovery plus/zenith collections are the ones harassing me. When i get letters they talk about credit score blah blah blah and i get a little scared and then I think rationally and calm down. But if I was to say this person no longer lives here wouldnt that work?

and also i forgot to mention one more thing. The car is owned a company , but I am the registered keepers. so :

    Company name, my name, address

and also i no longer am registered keeper of the car.

They are powerless companies trying to scare you into paying

They cannot effect your credit history unless they take you to court and win

Please don't say that as any contact with these scumbags will only excite them further, and they'll send more letters

As long as they are writing to you they can't harass your company

It goes on when you were

They are debt collectors, they have access to your credit file, so can see if you have changed address etc, they can't make alterations but they can view it. Also taking debt collectors seriously is a sure fire way of someone who could cave on this.

    Debt collectors are

    Powerless
    Only write threatening templated letters
    Lie frequently to chase debts
    They are utterly unscrupulous
And cannot take anyone to court over this matter

  • thanks ever so much for your quick replies. one more quick question:

me and my brother both have 2 first names, one which is same and same surname.

    so me: X X X
    my bro: X Y X

car was registered as company name, X X, address. so should I mind **** them and ask who they after or just ignore?

So who are they writing to? I guess you as the registered keeper of the vehicle yes? Or are they writing to your company ? Which is passing on the letters?

The bit in bold raises an interesting point for me.

Surely Debt Collecters should have access to your Credit File to chase legitimate debts, until this has been to court and has proven to be a legitimate debt, then they should not have access to your Credit File?

I think they simply need to be licensed to access the information. Something we can hope roxburghe are going to lose soon.

Surely they must have a legitimate need to access information?

Just like the police have access to the PNC, but they just can't go accessing information on their neighbours etc without a lawful need.
