Life is so monotonous...

My two were both terrible for sleeping and I was struggling with complications for months from both caesarians. I was lucky to have my DH and his bosses were brilliant.
I must admit that when they had their nap when they were little I had one as well, housework was a quick flick and polish and as long as the hoovering was done the house looked ok, I didn't worry about it I was too busy being a Mum, a friend was horrified and started doing bits for me like ironing, but I wasn't fussed if she wanted to do it that was fine by me.
I loved it when they got to toddler stage and we started to play games. I used to fill the play pen with balloons and we had balloons everywhere, great fun:D.We baked biscuits, cakes and pastry (I used to give them a big lump of pastry and let them cut out shapes with biscuit cutters and they got to feed them to Dad
)
We went for walks, luckily we have lots of countryside close by, we went to the park, we played "gardening" I just gave them a children's trowel and let them dig in the dirt and they had a little watering can and we planted seeds, we named all the insects and counted worms and snails (shudder) we also spotted birds, squirrels and flowers and named them and they loved it.
We had a sheet over two chairs for indoor camping and indoor picnics when the weather was bad.
I gave them a crayon and paper and sat with them and we scribbled away. We went "swimming" once a week, luckily our leisure centre has a baby pool and they loved it.
We sat quietly and read a book before their post lunch nap and this got them into a routine.
We had bath time every night and then we read a book and sung a lullaby, again setting a routine, they still played up for a while, but in the end they knew that bedtime meant sleep time, now they are young adults the reverse is true, I can't get them out of their pits of doom:rotfl:.
They grow so fast and once they are at school the time flies by so quickly. Make the most of their younger years, you won't regret it and sod what other people think, I always said if they don't like my house being the way it is they don't have to come again.
I miss those days when they were small and I would go back to them in a heartbeat, build memories and your children will thank you for the happy times.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
