There will be a clause in his tenancy agreement not to cause a nuisance to neighbours. Think about complaining to the landlord and environmental health if its that bad.

The multi coloured foam ear plugs from amazon worked well for me in Ibiza this weekend. They are shaped a bit like aeroplanes. They were so cheap but very effective.

The normal shaped foam ones either fall out or hurt my ears. The wax ones are good too

Some ebay sellers do variety packs so you can find out which suit you best. To compress them before putting in your ear, try twisting them, as they untwist they expand and seat themselves better.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

I use these that I get from Amazon, £2.74 for 20 paid. They last a year

I just got some of those but I don't really find them effective. They seem too soft and tend to fall out, mind you I am a bit squeamish about pushing them in too far in case I can't get them out, it makes me a bit panicky!!

The older ones I have are much harder and seem to stay in better.

Yes, earplugs are good, but for the best effect (and I know this is a bit gross) put some spit on the end of them before you squidge them up - it makes a proper seal when it goes in your ear. I know, horrible, but only for a couple of seconds and then you get significantly better sound reduction.

If you really want total isolation then spend a few quid on a pair of these:

Heavy but they DO remove you from all distraction!

Don't worry about pushing them in, I've never known of a human with ear channels so deep and wide that earplugs get lost! You should be okay to squidge them up and push in as far as the earplugs will go.

Logically I know that but..... it makes me feel panicky if I have to dig around to get them out. I have to use them though as I would get no sleep due to DH snoring!!

I know it's gross, but putting spit on the first keeps them in and seals them proper good. Life's not pretty all the time!

I hate it though if I get a 'vacuum seal' either with an ear plug or my hearing aid mould. Probably tend not to push them in far enough, but if I do push them in 'all the way' I then have to dig them out to release the pressure. Awkward, me??? :rotfl:
