Hi All
I need t replace my present laptop. It is running very slowly, clogged up with too many photographs, and family videos. My present laptop is a Dell Latitude 830 which runs for minutes on battery, Duo CP, T7500 @2.2GHz, 2.19GHz 0.99GB of RAM.
I wondered whether anyone could recommend something to replace it with to allow web development, video editing? I need to replace it asap.

Copy all of your important data to an external hard drive(I hope you have done this anyway as a matter of course) and then run a clean install.. You can buy a battery for just over a tenner.
Probably time to get a new machine anyway, but easy to get the machine back up to speed and back into usage.0 -

I used to think that way - but my 6 years Dell laptop recently suffered a stroke and never recovered (looks like a shortcut somewhere on motherboard). I replaced it with another brand (Sony).Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I want to buy one in the next day (ideally today) or to and wondered if anyone had any recommendations? I am looking on Ebuyer at the moment and will have a look on hotukdeals - will see if Quidco can be used. Anyone any recommendations of what and where to buy...?0

Budget?

Thinking of between £500 and £600. So I think it is quite a healthy budget. But there are so many to choose from. Want to do a bit of web design and family video editing (try to learn a bit about it) using it.0

Standard definition 15.6" touchscreen?
Considering that modern cameras shoot in Full HD, a standard 15.6" screen wouldn't cut the mustard.
I would forgo the touchscreen for a 17+" Full HD screen.
Of course if the OP already has a Full HD external monitor for that kind of thing, it may not be a problem. But I certainly wouldn't consider paying that kind of money for a laptop with a bog standard screen.0
