Received letter today saying I have to pay a fee of £50 for parking on their clients property over the stated time. I asked the stated 'client' if they wanted my business in the future to 'call their dogs off' they said if I have a receipt they will email the company to waiver the fine. I actually don't have the receipt and asked them to look at cctv to prove I was in the store the whole time. They were most unhelpful so I am going to contact their head office on monday. Does anyone know if I have any rights to view, or have viewed the cctv evidence? I have read the forums and am not prepared to pay but my other half isn't so sure as yet. Any advice plse

Its a private parking company, why are you taking this so seriously? Complain to the head office and let them cancel it. Which parking company was it, and was it in England or Wales? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

You won't be able to look at CCTV - and it's probably been recorded over by now and it simply won't happen so forget that, you are taking this too seriously and approaching it from the wrong angle. Firstly, for easy cancellation, have you no other proof of purchase you can show the client to call their scummy PPC off?
If not then simply get your own back with a winning POPLA appeal, of course, which costs the PPC money only to see their fake PCN cancelled. And is fun to write with all the help you will find here. Challenge it in the sort of specific way posted about every hour of every day on this forum; advice about appealing and POPLA wording that wins is on other threads above and below your thread so look around the forum.
Happy reading, make sure you also read Parking Prankster's blogs outlining his challenges against several CCTV fake PCNs issued by Highview, as linked on the 'POPLA decisions' sticky thread, right at the top of the forum (a must-read!).
Forget the CCTV (stop thinking you have to prove what you did - but do try complaining again!) then, if no joy, challenge before day 28 as you will read about on other threads. The POPLA appeal wording is the important stage so read up on that and don't fire off a normal appeal.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I paid in cash so have no other form of proof unfortunately. I am not actually the registered keeper, just the driver. Does that make any difference?0

Best if the registered keeper challenges it (not mentioning the driver) as they got the letter. Also it's easier to win a POPLA appeal from a registered keeper point of view because PPCs have to jump through more hoops to establish registered keeper liability.
Is the registered keeper forum-savvy? As they must read up on challenges and POPLA as explained. You can do the appeal as the driver but it's not recommended IMHO as it leaves you possibly more vulnerable to losing at POPLA.
Not an impossible task though, to guide you to a good POPLA appeal if the rk isn't up for this. I reckon we can do it if necessary but it's best written by the keeper.
BUT COMPLAIN MORE FIRST!! Is there a Head Office of this client and can you email them a very assertive complaint with a photo of the large purchase, saying you paid cash but clearly cash buyers aren't welcome to return as you will never shop there again unless they call the scammer off?PRIVATE 'PCN'? There's no problem with the RK reading the forum advice. There are such a lot saying to just ignore the letters? I will take your advice and contact clients head office first. Just one question..why is the letter headed Charge Notice and not Parking Charge Notice??0

No there are not unless you have simply wasted your time randomly searching and reading old threads when that USED to be the advice. Do not search for old threads, simply read current threads on page 1 - 10 of the forum which were only posted this week and you will learn loads!
And it's called that because the scammers want to call it that.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well Dunelm Mill are not interested!! I shall now be shopping at Range. let them have my and my familys hard earned money. I will look on this site for the template to use to appeal to Tps. Then I will go through Popla, even though I read on here that Popla cannot make the motorist pay.0
