I am moving abroad soon and wish to buy an Unlocked simple smart phone.
will the PAYGO phones from Carphone Warehouse work with a foreign SIM card?
(I heard somewhere that a UK network can block a phone if its not used with the SIM card provided at purchase - is this true?)
don't want to buy a second hand one, budget is around £60.

Yep, all CW PAYG mobiles are unlocked in the box. You are usually asked to buy a £10 top up, and once this is used up, throw it away and get a SIM of your choice. I bought a nice Nokia 201 for £49 plus an Orange £10 top up.0
