    Thanks for the replies.

    I've made myself a check list of thing to do, council tax, utilities etc... Hopefully I haven't missed anything important.

    Carpet fitters are arranged to measure up and fit a few days later.

    I'm quite fortunate in that my dad used to be a painter and decorator in his younger years and he has kindly agreed to take a week off of work to help me.

    i've given one months notice on my house today, as renting temporarily, and we need to, otherwise it will be 15 aug before we are done with renting, but not quite exchanged on my purchase! Eek! Nearly there though, should be Tue....

    I hope it all goes well for you, being a FTB I have been reading so much on the Internet, and as always it's usually horror stories which are posted.

    I will update next week and let you know if I come across any horrors in my new home.
