I sat with the chooks on the only bit of lawn near the house that hasn't been mashed by the builders.

:D Did you remember that another Itsme rule was don't plant/do anything outside until the builders have finished, rozee?
They manage to get everywhere with machinery, mixing, cleaning, stacking...... You name it, they'll use it.

Glad your day was fun, though, despite the project issues.

    morning all:j:j

it was 'a bit' cooler last night:T:T

Well hubby has been watching utube last night on how to put up our type of scaffolding. its a slot in type one...sooooo hopefully it should be up by today/tomorrow..

Ebay is very slow this week:o must be the hot weather.. people just cant be bothered.. BUT I have got something listed, that has got quite a few bids, and didn't realise would go for good money, and its the type of thing I can list regular, so at least I am back learning what is more or less guaranteed to sell etc..

I have one week to hit my financial target I set myself 3 - 4 months ago.... so unless I win the lottery or a long lost relative 'rich' relative has died and left me money in their will.. I am pooped:rotfl:, BUT I have achived the raise the money to buy the scaffolding, and had more pigs:D:T

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi everyone, am enjoying the glorious weather especially as the warmth improves my energy levels. I have even been able to forgo socks on some afternoons - wonderful not to have cold feet. :D

Well our house buying saga continues, but good news we have had an offer accepted on an architecturally unexciting chalet bungalow. The garden isn't as big as I wanted, but it is in a lovely spot on the edge a pretty Suffolk village. Delightfully the village is built around the river Rat! And I will have space for some chickens and a pond which were my main garden requirements.

The vendors have to find somewhere now, lets hope it is soon :)

Also had some good news at the hospital. The surgeon agreed to remove some tissue that they didn't like the look of under a local anaesthetic. 'Ah don't worry my dear' he said 'I have done full mastectomy's under local anaesthetic' So relieved as a general would have taken me ages to recover from. And they don't tiddle around - going to be done in the next couple of weeks. Surgeon was great - wonderful 'bedside manner' with a lovely Irish accent.

Have enjoyed reading about your week too, and loved the photo's of the piglets in the troughs :T
It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Good news abour the house, Better Days, and maybe better news from the hospital. So glad its not more serious. As a bloke I wouldnt normally comment but after an episode when I had to go for tests including a mammogram I've got some idea how worrying it can be.

CTC, whatever extra money you raise is a bonus, and you get the twin pleasure of pigs and scaffolding :D

Maggie, lovely lavender, ours has just come into flower. The fuchsias on our north shaded bedrock wall are enjoying the weather as well. BTW the vertical rocks on the lower left must each weigh tonnes, the lower one is about 6 feet long and 3 feet high! The upper fuchsia grows in a tiny pocket built onto the rockface and is probably at its best ever. The rockface has been extended upwards with a mortared rock wall to provide stability and a path runs along its top, about 12' above the house path. This wall was not stable when we first moved here, a large rock tumbled down during a thunderstorm and hit the back door step

Davesnave love the pic, BUT even though it was of a lovely field of just baled hay, I kept thinking, I couldn't keep pigs in there, as there is no shade

There is shade in the middle of our land, which is where the pigs were. The road hedge and the willow grove are also kept tall to protect the sheep from the worst of the winter weather too. Mind you, if we were to go for pigs the bit up by Mr Dog is nice and shady too! ;)

Double hopeful news for Better Days :j and some super piccies on here. I'll be back to look properly later, but must go and damp down, water etc etc as it isn't any cooler! Also might have to dash over to Hants , as we have a very sick DD, who's now all alone, as her uni chums have all fled for the summer....:(

    Oh no daveSnave. :(

Bought cheaper bathroom tiles. Saved a mortgage payment worth of spend on stone. Feel better about the tiles. They are not what I'd have ideally, but .....you know, I'd also ideally not spend an extra months mortgage payment on wall tiles, so deal done. :)

Doc has been. It's either food poisoning, in which case it'll get better, or it's appendicitis, when it will get worse. :( My money's on food poisoning, picked up in London.

She will tough it out to see which way it goes and make a decision whether to come home or not tomorrow. This place is no good to be ill in, though you get a free helicopter ride. I think that's what worries her!

Most students knock off when they graduate, but these 'layabout artists' go up to London for a 4 day show and then return to uni, where they dismantle their other exhibition, clean up, repaint the studio and leave it ready for the next batch. DD is working over there all summer anyway and changing accommodation in 2 weeks.

Edit: No news yet on Daisy the cat. We had blood taken yesterday which may rule out some things. One thing we can't rule out is old age. Huge coincidence that the vet had a very similar 20 year old tortie which was put to sleep on Tuesday. :(

Dave, hope she improves soon and she's got someone to look in on her from time to time to check she's ok. Luckily for my DD1 many years ago her mother took her complaint of stomach ache more seriously than I did, she had her appendix out a few hours later :o

Mind, food poisoning isnt much fun either, once it took a week to recover from a very dodgy south bank salad, including several days in hospital

fingers crossed it is food poisoning, but I mean that in a nice way specially comparing it with the potential of the other option that it might be:o

    with Daisy.. with her age....:(:(:(
