What comps DONT you enter and why?

-
Holidays because we don't have passports and no one to look after pets
Tickets to places (unless local)
Meet and greets
CDs because I download my music from iTunes
Blu rays, don't have a blu ray player
Make up/fake tan, don't use them
Clothes, they usually don't do my size
Shoes (unless trainers)
Baby things/toys, unless its something i can use for hamster/mouse photos
Hair appliances, got short hair so no use for them
Books, unless its something I will read
Lol, looking at that I'm surprised I can find comps to enter :rotfl:
Tbh when I first started comping I used to enter for anything and everything just to get a win but now a win is no longer a win and I threw out/gave away a load of stuff so now I just enter for things I want/can/do use0 -
FB Like and shares - like most of you, I'd rather not spam my friends.
[STRIKE]Pinterest [/STRIKE]- Scratch that, I finally made a pinterest account
Anything for specific groups I'm not part of such as over 60s, Jewish, Wales only.
Stuff I don't want or need so things like:
Craft stuff - I won't use it
Tickets to stuff - generally I can't get time off work to go
Pretty much anything in the South or Scotland that doesn't include travel.
Anything that will cost me more to get there than the prize is worth (£500 to spend in a Liverpool shopping centre, yes. £50 to do anything in London, No)
Sports stuff - I just don't need it.
Books - I have a Kindle so no point
Blu-rays - I don't have a player
Games console Games apart from Xbox - I only have an xbox so can't use any other kit
Meeting people ones - I don't want to get let down by meeting my heroes and finding out they aren't great so I'd rather carry on not having met them.
Wedding stuff - I'm married already
Holidays for couples - I have a small child and a pet
Holidays in general - time off work is like unicorn poop
Anything Gold - I don't like gold
Fake tan/lotions and potions - I never use it
Anything that has to be collected from miles away
Most rafflecopter ones because it just isn't worth the effort for most of the prizes offered and I don't want my facebook page spammed by theirs.
Most "answer in the comments" comps because after the first person gets it right, everyone else just has to copy the answer. There's no challenge in it and it feels like cheating even if I already knew the answer.
I've got a very short wishlist of things I actually want that I enter for (Digital camera, travel money)then I also enter anything I see at the time and think would be nice(fancy chocolate, wine, sometimes jewellery or perfume). I don't enter anything I don't want/need because it isn't fair to people who do want/need it.
2014 wins: maternity/nursing pillow, Magnum chocolate, baby stroller, Baileys cupcakes
Took a break while I moved country (twice).
2018 wins:£400 meal for 4, Clipper tea
2019 wins: flight voucher0 -
Loathe voting comps - sometimes the challenge is fun - a photo or a bit of writing but I know I'd be wasting my time as some people have organised themselves with a gang of willing voters (even someone I know of who campaigns against voting comps won last year with a "just this once vote for me as I'd really love this prize" plea. I feel sorry for those who have spent time and effort but are too principled to tout for votes.
Not keen on Rafflecopter. I did win once - a pair of swim pants worth £12 for a baby. The winning e-mail came with a request for a £10 donation to the blogger's swimathon
Love ticket comps!0 -
I don't enter for competitions that are run by companies that I don't know or look suspicious.(fake)0

I had a bit of a double take looking at the mail in comps a few days back.
I now can say I won't enter any competition where the mail-in entry goes to the building I work in. (PR company has their office there)0 -
Ive only been doing competitions the last couple of weeks, but I don't enter anything for babies, as I dont have any kids!
I don't enter anything twitter as I don't have it.
I don't enter stuff that I have no interest in like sports.
Also as I live in Northern Ireland I wouldn't enter prizes like winning a weekend break to cornwall or something as flights over wouldn't be included (unless it states in the terms that they will pay for flights to england)0 -
Sporting wise I only enter for Wimbledon tickets, no gear, no matches, no breaks related to sport.
Surveys
Baby/ children's toys
Health supplements
Not a lot of fashion or costume jewellery
No overnight stays more than 100 miles away unless travel expenses paid.
No family caravan holidays
I try and avoid the oh so cosy bloggers
Craft comps, would just be a wicked waste, even if I tried to use it!!!
Blu rays.
Northern Ireland, Scotland breaks without travel.
