You have to rename them as *.flv files for the FLV player to recognise them. Simply right click the file, select 'Rename' and change it to what you want
e.g. movieclip.flv.
That should do the trick. Works for me!0 -
Best Solution ... and gurantee to work...
I thought I could help out.. seems like ppl still have problem downloading and playing youtube videos. For example, not knowing whether to use ".flv" or not...or how to play youtube videos with windows media player...etc..
I just use "Zillatube". It download youtube video quickly. You can download and save it with any name, yet you'll still be able to play them. And even convert them to good quality video that can be played on windows media.
Zillatube can even convert to mp4, mp3, avi, and more. I guess you just have to test it out to know that it is easy to use, yet it does what you wanted.
btw, you can get it at http://www.zillatube.com
Hope this helps.0 -
For downloading video from youtube I use keepvid.com because it very easy, just to paste url from youtube and to save video on computer. For converting flv to various video format I have found Flash to Video Encoder PRO by geovid. I use it long time and it works very fine for me. I like this prog.0

LOL, I have the same problem everytime I go to grab it. It's a great tool though, remarkable that it is still free.Rocky.0 -
Video Downloader is crap addon.
Best one to use for the fire fox browser is:
OOK?
You can find it here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2584
Once installed, restart FF and you will now see a new icon in very bottom left of browser.
Go to any YouTube Video and if you want to download, click the button and it auto-starts downloading it in .FLV format!
You can play the FLV file in VLC media player found here
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
(one of if not the best media player in the world)
