Yes you can do it via a Firefox add on called VideoDownloader use a FLV Player and then convert to AVI etc. I have downloaded a few personally for use on my Mobile.
    Cheers

  • thanks how do i convert it to avi?
  • Yep, I use VideoDownloader's Firefox add-on too. Use SUPER to convert the downloaded files to AVI format.

    or go to keepvid.com

    paste link

    save to computer as blahblahblah.flv

convert with converter to whatever you want.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

The download link is kinda hidden. ;) Scroll right down to the bottom of that page on the link I gave above. Click on 'Start Downloading SUPER ©'. Then click on 'download and use' on the next page. Scroll down. The link to download the program itself is under 'SUPER©.v2007.build.22(Mar.14,2007)'

How can i ensure that my downloaded youtube videos (e.g. to videodownloader or keepvid) are in .flv format?

When i use these progs to download the clips, then try to open them (in FLV player), the clips are not recognised. Videodownloader is prompting me to save clips as .flv, but i assumed this happened automatically. But as i get this prompt, i'm wondering if i've soemhow got a wrong file extension.

Does any one know how i find out what extention the files are saved to, and, if it isn't the .flv, how i can change it.

Very frustrated here....have spend last 4 hours trying to download and view youtube clip and i really want to convert it to something i can watch in Windows media (i'm assuming it has to be .avi).

Have also tried vixy.net, but can't get it to work either. AARGGH!!!!

    thanks all, in anticipation.
