How does she find the Z4? My wife is making noises about wanting to trade in the Zed, initially she wanted the Z4 but is now making noises about a 6 series Cabrio as the prices have reached attractive and affordable levels.
I will be making a subtle push towards the Z4M.
Loves it!!
Hers is the latest z4 2.0i Turbo and its a fantastic car!
Before that she had a 3.0Si z4 Coupe.
I would be a little wary of the z4m unless ultimate performance is your PRIMARY aim. If its not, the 3.0Si makes a great all rounder. Masses of power, decent suspension, 28mpg, great engine noise, etc, etc.
As my wife went for new again, the best deals were on the 2.0 Turbo, and whilst she'd have loved another straight six, it was hard to justify a £12,000 'jump' in price.

Lovely cars.
I made the mistake of buying her a advanced driving and handling course as a xmas present. Hence the used Z4m and leading eventually to a V8 Astonits a slippery slope.

LOL
Drive a z4m - its a very harsh car relative to the 3.0Si. There are some who would say its not an everyday car.
3.0Si is 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and being RWD you can have a wail of a time!
Wifie also had a Prodrive Subaru Impreza which was FUN!
She'd love an Aston at some point. They're in a league of their own!0 -
Finally, are they a 'man's car'...?
As Strider and Gilber & Sullivan said, if you are concerned that a car is going to affect your sexuality in some way you need to get back in the closet!
Most soft tops have that hairdresser tag. You'll either care or you won't!What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -

Almost Snap, my wife used to regularly steal my twin turbo forester.
Good point, I will get her to test drive the 3.0Si as well for comparison, My main concern is not her handling although the additional power but the M tax for servicing.0 -

I'm sure she'd be fine with the extra power - its not that i mean though. Its that the M car needs to 'driven' for it to be 'on song' as it were, round the town they're not supposed to be terribly driveable.
The 3.0Si is a more driveable car.0 -

I thought Cat D was minor damage, and only received cat d because of cost to repair a new car, rather than any serious damage. Doesnt even require a VIC certificate0 -

Not quite right. londontiger is right.
If you work on a write off being half the car's value (in layman's terms) then an old motor can be written off for a scraped bumper.
A newer car, say £20k will potentially have had a very hefty thump to cause £10k of damage.
Does that make sense? I stress it is in very basic terms. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
