wonders what sky would say if i turned round and said i,m going to reduce my subscription by 10% due to a wage freeze, a contract works both ways not just 1 way which it seems sky are doing
You, of course, did have the option to not subscribe to Sky if you were not willing to agree to their terms.
You could have also informed Sky at the start of the agreement that if your wage was frozen, you would reduce the payment you make to them by 10%. However, I can imagine they would have declined to offer you their services under those terms!
A contact does work 2 ways, but both sides need to agree on the terms at the outset.0 -
There will be plenty of SKY/Murdoch/Prem football bashing on this thread I expect...
But I get a pretty good deal with SKY I think and a small increase I can live. I get SKY TV, unlimited broadband, HD, SKY Sports and phone line for £38 a month at the moment. All about doing your homework and negotiating.0 -
I thought everybody cancelled before their contract ended and waited for their call to get you back at an offer price?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Blimey, do people really pay that every month just for TV?
I'm happy with Freeview.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

I used to work for Sky and this happened a lot (late 90s). Even back then Sky were aware of certain people 'offer surfing' so may not be quite so generous these days...0 -
And there goes some more payers out of the door, towards freesat/ internet TV.0

Pretty sure the net result will be a gain for sky so I am sure they will not be that bothered.
I am not a sky fanboy but I do subscribe, mainly due to football (bt's offer is gash). I also like a number of programmes/channels I would not be able to (legally) recieve otherwise. Sky is a luxury item imo, I would spend more down the pub watching footy in a month than i pay to sky for all the channels I watch so from a cost/benefit point fo view it is a no brainer.YNWA

I got the letter this week from Sky to say my Sky Entertainment Extra package was going up by £1 from £26pm to £27pm.
I decided to ring them up to cancel and they offered me a 12 month deal for £15.50 pm (so approximately £10.50 pm saving for the next few months going up to £11.50pm for the balance of the year). I decided to stay with Sky.
To help others I have been a Sky customer for over 10 yeras and haven't haggled for a while.I came, I saw, I melted0
