Parking Eye letter before action - 7 months after the offence

Hi all, I have just received a 'letter before action' from Parking Eye concerning an 'offence' which took place on 22nd November 2012 where I overstayed the time limit. Back when I first received notices about this, the advice on here was to ignore them, which I did. Heard nothing more after January so I assumed they had given up, and now this letter has appeared out of the blue, and I see that the advice is no longer to ignore (although obviously too late for me to appeal now).

Is it likely that they will take me to court? What would be your advice, if any please?

It's likely they are going to take you to the small claims, they have changed their tactics since you were advised to ignore. There is nothing to worry about it if they do as you can get help to draw up a defence from the guys over on https://www.pepipoo.com , they help a lot of people in your position.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

.....and when they see your defence they may not even want to do court....they are just hoping you will cave in and pay up.
