I'm having a prob with boo, she's desperate to get out keeps scrabbling at the doors and windows, it's a pain coz its quite warm and we have to keep all doors and windows shut.
She's also started spraying by the litter box,it's all up the wall just above the litter box, bloody stinks!
    Not sure what's going on?
    Any ideas?

  • No she will go outside for 20/30 mins twice a day or so.she has only ever stayed out. All night 3 times in her life-one of these is I'm sure when she did the dirty!

    nope.
So, we have decided that we cannot have been sure of her due date,I opened the curtains the other day to find a different tom cat in the garden,so it could have been him that impregnated her!therefore she may not have fell during that week.

spoke to the vet, they wanted to see her straight away for an ultrasound.I asked how much, they said £60...just for the ultrasound.
'are you sure she is pregnant?'...errrm,,yes I can see them all moving around!so, it would be £86 for them to say 'yep, she's pregnant'.

we are leaving her this weekend then seeing monday whats going on.she is eating, pooing etc completely happy.kittens are all still moving.last night she hid in our laundry basket and dh said she kept following him around, then going back to basket and looking at her back end unsettled.

no kittens overnight,so fingers crossed she carries on like this and has the little blighters!
  • When they are close to being born the lower teats swell (about 48 hours to go) then they change shape - from being like a barrel in cross section to being like a pear, where the bulge has dropped and is lower. Then the mum to be's behaviour changes and she will start to dig and scratch in the place/s where she wants them to be born (personally I like this to be somewhere clean as they choose silly places like under the stairs) so I set up a bed in a pen. I do make it out of the way and put a blanket over the pen too so they feel hidden. One of my girls would only give birth under a table !! The when they are imminent the start rhythmic purring and the sticky plug comes away. This is usually about 1 - 2 hours before contractions start. You will see them as they will pull in her tummy and really look like they are squeezing. Rarely do the yell, but do sometimes. Once at this stage you can remove the pen and they will stay put.
