Poor Internet Speeds-Can I Cancel Early?

Had a cursory search but couldn't find enough info. When I signed up to Plusnet Business Broadband, I was initially getting about 2meg which is just fine for our business from a speed point of view, However, it is now consistently less than 0.7 meg which is just too slow for us. Given that our business trades mainly on eBay, a decent connection is imperative. At our current speeds, our work flow is awful as we twiddle our thumbs waiting for pages to load. This has an obvious cost implication. The terms we signed up to at the time from plusnet are here:

I am ware that Plusnet are fulfilling their side of the agreement by providing a service. However, do I have a leg to stand on by argiung that the service is unacceptable? They have told me I can cancel anytime but, of course, I will be subject to £200 odd early cancellation fees. Anyone?

No where does it say they guarantee a certain speed, so just because its slower than you would like doesn't give you any rights to cancel.
if you really need to have a fixed speed, then you will need to pay for a leased line instead0 -
Before you go down the "faulty line" you could try the following :-
1, repower the router
2, Connect the router/filter to the master socket (pull top part off BT NTE) and connect your PC directly into the router with a cat5 cable - If speeds increases then its your internal wiring
3, Try replacing the adsl filter as these can still work but cause thoughput issues.
If you try the 2nd option with a new filter and the results are the same then place a call to your ISP0
