Cooperative Bank - drawing out more than £250 how?

Hi,
Does anyone know if, as a cooperative bank customer, can I draw out £2500 from either post office or Brittania (which I believe are linked to cooperative)?
If so what Id would be required? This is for a Car purchase and my preffered option than doing a Bank transfer.
There isn't a Cooperative branch any where near where I live so that's not an option. It's the Basic Cooperative account and the money is in account and cleared.
Hope someone can help the cooperative website didn't have any of the answers!

Simple answer why don't you give the co-operative a phone call and ask them. It will be far quicker than waiting for someone on here to answer.
As far as I know the branch that you want to use may need a few days notice if you want to withdraw that amount in one go. As they don't all keep large amounts of cash on site especially if they are a small branch.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

This page off their web site says:Cash You may withdraw cash from your account at any of our branches. To do so you may be asked for some of your customer security details. For security purposes, if you wish to withdraw a large sum please contact us on 08457 212 212^ to arrange this. The branch may need prior notice of your withdrawal and additional identification may be required.0 -

Yes, but that doesn't answer the OP, who wants to know if it can be done at a location that isn't a Co-op bank branch.
(Also fixed the link which had gone a bit haywire http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/customerservices/managingyouraccount/transactionscharges)0 -

I don't think it can be done at a location that isn't a Co-op branch, you can't go into a HSBC branch and say "I want £2500 from my co-op account please"
The Op's original statement was "

Not Can I take £2500 "at a location that isn't a Co-op bank branch"Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

It amazes me how many peoples' first thought when they have a query regarding their bank is not to call the bank but instead to post on a forum.urs sinserly,

It's usually quicker than ringing the bank's call centre, you can understand what's being said and the answer isn't just what will get rid of you the fastest? If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I would hardly say it was quicker from the time the OP posted the question and the first reply took 14 minutes.
It would have probably taken the OP at least 10 to 15 minutes to create the post in the first place.
So that's roughly 29 minutes, had they called Co-Op to ask them that, it probably would have taken 10 to 15 mins max to get an answer to the question.
So it was hardly that fast was it??Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

I don't understand your argument, neither a Post Office nor a Britannia branch is a Co-op branch, so my statement that the OP is asking if it can be done at a place that isn't a Co-op branch (in this case, specific locations rather than anywhere that's not Co-op, so any mention of HSBC is irrelevant) seems pretty reasonable.0 -
At a Post Office you will be limited to your card limits (??£250 a day??) and will just need your PIN - not sure about Britannia. I don't recall a PIN pad device in my local branch0
