HI All,
I posted 4 items on Friday 1st class last week presuming they would get to their destinations Saturday/Monday
1 - Manchester to Cheshire - received Wednesday
2 - Manchester to Southport - received Saturday
3 - Manchester to Conwy - buyer has not made any contact or confirmed it has been received - I am presuming it has or I would have heard by now
4 - Manchester to Wakefield - not yet received.
It wasn't of much value £3.90 in total, what is the best thing to do? I have messaged the guy to just say one of the recipients only received theirs yesterday and to maybe wait a while longer.
Do I just refund him at the end of the week? The buyer has great feedback and leaves positive for the items he does buy so I do believe it hasn't actually arrived with him

It's entirely possible that it's still working its way through the system (where on earth the Royal Mail get their laughable figures of more than 99% of first class mail being delivered the day after it's posted, I have no idea).
I would try and get the buyer to wait a bit longer, but if it hasn't arrived by say next Tues/Wed, I think you'll probably have to refund.0 -

Thanks for that - is there much point trying to get anything back from RM? It wasn't tracked - I have proof of postage but its literally a receipt the PO gave me with a Post Code written on!!0 -

That's proof of postage - you can claim from RM but you need to wait 15 (working?) days before you can claim.0 -

I post most of mine second class and often get feedback from the buyer thanking me for quick delivery the very next morning.0 -
Don't get me started on Royal Mail. We sent a business parcel first class and it never arrived. two months later - there it is for sale on Ebay (Serialised, custom built medical device, so no question). Even if the label had come off the box, there was a full detailed delivery note inside with sender and (non) recipient details inside.
Seems that their policy is if they lose the label it goes to the return centre. The return centre then sell the item off to an auction house, and the auction house open the parcel (discarding our address details) and then sell the item on.
And Royal Mail say they have done nothing wrong!0 -
Wonder if you could sue RM for that
Back to OP, an item from Wakefield sent last Sat 1st class hasn't arrived with me (London) either, though 2nd class from NI always arrives in 1 day0 -

That is absolutely outrageous. Unsurprising where RM are concerned, though, sadly.0 -

My understanding was that lost/undelivered mail was sent to a Royal Mail facility in Belfast where packages are opened to look for a sender/delivery address.
I wonder if your buyer was being honest.0 -

+1
And thanks for the clarification - I've been wondering where all the 'lost' stuff goes.
I've ordered about 10 things online in the last month - mostly from Ebay- and three have never arrived.
I also posted a 1st Class Recorded letter 10 days ago - to a local address - it's still showing as undelivered on the system!
Have emailed Royal Mail to complain but from past experience they won't do anything about it. It's pathetic.
Usually you can 'name and shame' companies and organisations on their Facebook pages but there isn't really that option with Royal Mail it seems.
There's a page called 'Save our Royal Mail' and when I asked why bother, it's c-r@p, they blocked me! So much for customer experience and opinion- never mind customer service!*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
*Could/should/would HAVE please!*

Yes, that's funny, when I send mail to NI it often arrives in one day!*Look for advice, not 'advise'*
