help with entitlements

my OH has been receiving IB for a couple of months now due to stress & anxiety. we are currently living on my wage plus the little amount we get for IB but money is more than stretched as my wage pays all the bills, mortgage, etc.
I have been on entitledto.co.uk but when I enter my details it states that I am not entitled to anything (my wage is 16k) - is this right or am I inputting something incorrectly???

It depends on your circumstances - do you have children?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
no - no children (well OH has son but only stays at weekends)0

My hubby and I are in the same boat - he's on IB and I've got a wage of 16k and no kids. We're not entitled to anything, not even carers allowance, even though my sleep is disturbed throughout the night with his condition, because you can only earn £85 a week!
I've even looked at reducing my hours becuase sometimes I'm like a zombie the next morning, however with reduced hours comes reduced pay and even if I reduce to 13k, we're still over the threshold!!
Sorry I can't be more optimistic for you.0 -

minimadtrix have you thought of claiming both tax credits and DLA?- DLA is not means tested and may open other benefits up for you.0

Hi, yes, we do claim DLA. Hubby is also entitled to a carer, which is me, but because I work, I'm not entitled to the carers allowance - like my job isn't as hard as those that choose, or have to stay at home, to care.
However, as far as tax credits are concerned, I keep ringing and asking, but just keep being laughed at and told 'oh you earn far too much.''0 -
