PCN pain

£195 sounds as if what you have is a Charge Certificate?

Did you not receive the original PCN?

That's exactly it... I'm, thankfully, not that familiar with parking tickets...
And, no I didn't receive the first letter. I'm guessing that quite hard to prove.

It's all legit, I was just wondering if I could possibly contest it.

The guy from the council said there was nothing I could do now until these all go to court(?) and I'm issued with the next letter in AUGUST. I really don't like the idea of this being just left until then (I'm not even in the country then). I can then say I didn't pay it because I didn't receive the first letter. Seems a but long winded, and high risk.

He's right, in as much as you have to wait for the Order for Recovery and at that point make a Witness Statement to the Traffic Enforcement Centre.

If that's accepted, it sets the PCN back to the NTO stage (£130) where you have the chance to make a formal appeal and, if that's refused, to the adjudicator.
  • Thanks, if it's refused could I be liable for both the £195 plus whatever costs start piling on?

The OfR adds £7 to the £195.

If this is genuinely the first letter you received about this charge then you should indeed be able to get it re-set to NTO or even PCN stage (if you received nothing till now).

Wait till you get the Order for Recovery then post on pepipoo.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
