Wow, £149.99 is so cheap for this phone, all other places seem to sell it £280+ how are they selling it this cheap, What's the catch?

+£10 topup, what is that, credit or..?

    There isn't a catch.

The only catch for yourself is that the phone would be locked to Orange/T-Mobile and you'd have to unlock it yourself (by buying an unlock code) to use an O2 sim inside.

It's good value but a bit of hassle. I'd say it's 100% worth at that price.

If I see this phone back in stock I may just have to get it for him, It looks great and the reviews seem good too, I just can't believe how cheap they are offering it :D

Kevlar back haha he'll like that, got it in his motorcycle clothing lol XD

I did think about the tmobile/orange lock, however isnt it like really cheap to get a phone unlocked, like a fiver down a local phone shop?

I might make one to go along with my 4G thread and unlimited thread which are already stickies.

Do you think something like "Best Budget Phones" or something like that would be a good title?

I dont know if we should place smartphones with old keypads, the difference in price can be £40, ie my tesco Samsung E1200 was £5 with a 99p Virgin sim. I'll go with whatever is the common denominator ;)

Back in 2005 the mobile board had loads of great threads, granny in a glovebox, payg costs, sim only (be great to have these as stickies) and people used to post loads of good stuff but mobile forum seems to have fallen by the way side, cheapest mobile phones & 3 is the cheapest but is it the best STILL a sticky ? Thats so 2007.... ZhugeEX your on the right track with your stickies but this subforum needs a right clean up :) 3 is the ONLY network NOT doing unlimited calls, how can that be the cheapest when primarily thats what a mobile is used for...a telephone.
Perhaps a cheapest mobile should have sub boards, 2G,3G,4G, under £30/100 or something like that, there is so much choice sub boards are needed.Let alone OS choices for smartphones whom most older people are now getting into but perplexed by such.

I mean something as a sticky that points to each networks Ofcom approved complaint process would unclutter a great amount of posts into one thread and such the like...

A thread could list the big 5 each with its resellers, and promos etc on sub boards...roaming links, links for help etc etc.

I used to really spend alot of time on MSE mobiles board but its the same posts over and over from people as the board is not functioning to its full potential and has not been for years. Id like to get more back into it but the same old data roaming costs issues and how do I complain over and over put me off.

Its mostly become a whinge board.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

Still not in stock yet, really hope it does come back at the price. I can also get around £7 cashback on it too.
  • Have you thought about trying Orange and T Mobile shops? They may have stock. At £150 I agree the Motorola is an absolute steal.

Yeah that's what I'm waiting for to come back into stock on the T-mobile shop, didn't see it in the orange shop for the same price.

I really hope it does, cause I wanna get it for him :)

I spoke to an assistant on live chat and asked them if they will be getting anymore of these in. She told me should be getting some next week.

I also sent them a PM on Facebook 2 days ago, they got back to me last night telling me that even though it says Out of Stock they have 3 in the stock room and that I can order over the phone.

This morning I phoned them up and the lady on the phone checked the Live Stock room and said that there were no whatsoever and that I could pick a different phone. I told her no thankyou it's that one I would like. I told her that the FB team said there were 3 and and the live chat said next week to get more stock. She replied saying; "Sorry, but how can they possibly know what stock we have in at the moment. I had a lady earlier call in asking for a phone that wasn't in stock aswell. They are getting wrong information."

I then opened up another live chat and told him what went on, and he told me that they should be getting stock next month.

    Ahhhh XD

I wish they would stop messing me around. :(:(

EDIT: I've just found out Orange is doing the same deal, but you have to get £20 topup. I phoned them up before ordering to make sure they had stock and the women said they've just go new stock in today :)

I ordered one and used topcashback website, but they are going to call me or something to confirm the order.. :/ I hope I still get the cashback.
  • Before you buy an Android device it is worth considering one of the Nokia Lumia phones.

These run Windows phone which performs well on relatively budget hardware. Android has many more applications but Windows phone has a good selection and the Nokia hardware tends to have good cameras.

Phones 4 U or Carphone Warehouse usually sell phones unlocked and unbranded (whatever network it is sold for). Buying any phone from an operator risks the phone coming with a load of operator specific junk.
