It looks like because the Primer was the most expensive item and it isn't part of both the skincare and make-up categories this would have been the 'lead' item that you would get charged for.

Then 1 of the others would have been the free one, so before putting through the vouchers your final bill would have been £23.00. All the voucher should still have worked though, subtracting £16.00 from the £23.00 and leaving £7.00 to pay. More confusingly though, is that you also got a 50% discount on the bronzer (so the BOGOHP on the 2 make also kicked in), which should have made the final total £1.25.

I did exactly the same shop the first time round the vouchers were available and my bill was £1.25.

Can anyone work out what happened? :o

I don't think that primer counts as skincare this time round, and I think thats why the 342 hasn't kicked in, as the other 2 items (triple protection tinted moisturiser and dual bronzer (couldn't find a triple bronzer on the website?) are both skincare and make-up.

I got the No 7 Triple protection Tinted Moisturiser @ £11.50
    1 Triple bronzer @ £11.50 and Colour Calming Primer @ £11.75.

It took both the till spit and the glossy ( both parts) so gave me 2 x £3.00 discount and 2 x £5.00 discount. It also gave me 50% off on the Bronzer. So I paid £11.75 altogether. Was the primer the wrong item?
I also picked up 4 till spits aswell!!!.

If the primer is classed as make up (which it seems to be) then the BOGOHP would have come off on the bronzer, no 3 for 2 as you haven't bought 3 skincare items.

    So 11.75, 11.50, 11.50 = 34.75
    Minus BOGOHP 5.75 = 29.00
Minus 16.00 vouchers = £13 to pay......so not sure how it got down to £11.75....

Thanks for all your replies. I had another look at my receipt and the Triple Protect Moisturiser shows as the item that is skincare and cosmetics and it is mentioned under the discount for the £5. and £3.00 vouchers. however the Primer just shows at bottom of receipt on its own.
I will try again later in the week when my glossy vouchers come from ebay. (£5.18 for 3 x 2 vouchers delivered). I will check back on here to see what people are buying. i dont use much make up but my daughter is starting to do Make up for weddings etc so it will help her stock.

I like the tinted moisturiser, dso if I bought that and a cleansing water what are my choices for a third item. I don't like the BB cream and would prefer not a primer but would buy if that was my choice. Also can you let me know 'which' primer if no other options

Sorry I'm so confused thank you :)

your problem there is that the primer isn't the cheapest of your 3 items, I'm not sure if the primer is skincare or make-up, and the primer isn't glitchy. If the primer had been the cheapest of your 3 items it would have cost you in the region of £3.42 (ie if you'd bought 2 glitchy BB creams at £12.95 each and your £11.75 primer, as the primer would have been the free item on the 342 - if its counted as skincare, which I'm not convinced it is?)

was it the primer that you were interested in most? If so, and if its make-up instead of skincare, team it with one glitchy item (ie the bronzing pearls at £9.95). Then I think it will be half price bronzing pearls on the make-up bogohp £4.97, plus your primer £11.75 = £16.72, and then you can use your £16 worth of No7 vouchers because the bronzing pearls are counting as both skincare and make-up, so you'd have only 72p to pay.

Just looked at my receipt again and the primer as £10.50 so the cheapest item. must have been tired when i posted last night. So could that be the problem? also what is the cleansing water is it the foamy one?

You pick one of the products in post 45 on this thread to go with your tinted moisturiserand cleansing water. you could have 2 tinted moisturisers and your cleanser.
dont pick a primer, its not skincare so wont work on the 342 offer.

The problem is the primer is make~up not skincare so the 342 wont work with the primer.

Ok. Thanks. I will keep it anyway and once i have my vouchers i will keep to the list. I so used to enjoy bootsing in the old days but have been concentrating on asda apg and tesco pp instead for a while. Shame the nearest store with self serve is run by a load of old bags. However my skin is thick!!. One of my friends who is moving back to Italy last week gave me her ADV card yesterday and said it has a load of points on it. Will check today.
