A very un-spendy weekend, much needed after last weekend's city break and largely a result of my tiredness after a hectic week! Only spends were on groceries, £35.59.

Just checked my bank account and £co payment of £35.17 has now been received so will be OP'd.

    Update on my goals:

    1. Mortgage to £41,700 - OP £120 - £102.61/£120
    2. eBay sales of £100 - £68/100 - aim to list 5 items this week
    3. Grocery budget £125 - £74.80/£125
    4. Cash out my OnePoll account - done! Waiting for funds to hit.

Just checked my bank account and I've received a random £co payout of £2.84. Bonus! My daily interest is £2.85 so you just know I had to top it up so that my OP offset that ;)

    1. Mortgage to £41,700 - OP £120 - £105.46/£120

  • Hope everyone had a fab weekend! I spent most of it wrapping Christmas pressies - just a few more items to order and then I am finished!

This means, however, that I've not had time for eB*y listings - need to get back on it this week.

Groceries came in at £28.01 so still on track there. I batch cooked a fair bit this weekend so packed lunches made for the week, dinner made for a couple of nights and meals for the rest of the days are planned and shopped.

My 123 cashback came in today so another £4 sent to the OP pot.

Quick update on my goals for the month:

    1. Mortgage to £41,750 - OP £120 - £109.46/£120
    2. eBay sales of £100 - £68/£100
    3. Grocery budget £125 - £102.81/£125
    4. Cash out my OnePoll account - done! STILL waiting for funds to hit.

Thanks Lucky, I'm really pleased - balance was at £100k this time three years ago and it was only at that point that I started regular OPs so it's amazing how quickly that has reduced - especially with a wedding to pay for in the interim! I have OP'd £44,489.88 in total to date. Mortgage originally set to finish 2037, then 2027, but in reality should be 2017. If I were to stop OPs now I would be MF in 5 years.

A teeny tiny bonus today - I have a season ticket railcard and am in a good routine of claiming for any delays - of which there are many! The train company used to give vouchers as compensation but have started offering cash refunds, so I cashed in for last week's train delay - £1.20. I'll pop this in my piggy bank and OP once I have enough to bag up.

Needed to buy some fruit yesterday and ended up getting a few YS bargains while I was there so another £4.41 on groceries - up to £107.22 for the month so £17.78 left for next week's shopping!!

  • Great read! Its amazing how quickly your focus on money, debt and OP's changes. Its equally amazing seeing the impact of all the payments.

Thanks for stopping by Jimmy - it really does focus the mind, and although there have been some chunky regular OPs in there it's also amazing how the small amounts add up without you really noticing.

Thanks LIL I'm feeling really positive about my MF mission at the moment :)

Nothing to report today, I think my next OP is unlikely to be before pay day next week unless I receive some bonus income as I'm still feeling the effects of paying for our holidays! Yesterday was a NSD and today will be too, at least.
