Advice please - moving to area with no Sky but there is BT

I wonder if someone could help me please.

Where we are currently living, we have sky TV, broadband, calls - the whole lot basically.

I have no problems with Sky and love having On Demand but where we are moving to, there is no Sky coverage.

On the broadband finder, it's coming up with BT but I'm not sure if I can transfer my sky package over but using the BT broadband/router - is this possible or do I have to switch over to BT. If so, do they have an On Demand equivalent?

You'd need to move your broadband/phone line to BT and use their service, Sky's simply won't be available.
BT do have an On-Demand type service (can't remember the exact name) but I found the choice limited and the broadband dreadful.

What do you mean by no coverage? do you mean the TV?
Is there physically no line of sight to the satellite?

Don't mean to cause offence, but have you considered the fact that Sky is crap?

Do you really want to pay old rupey a ton of money for his trash-tv? I can't really see why anyone would want to hand over hard earned money to watch repeat after repeat and low budget poorly produced TV for the masses like TOWIE or Britains Got (no) Talent.

Many shows can be watched online even via youtube. We saved around £450 a year by cancelling our Sky contract and ditching the TV license as we no longer watch any broadcast TV and I have to say, I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Now I decide what to watch and when. Granted, I cannot watch any live events unless I either buy a license or convert my TV to run off batteries (loophole in licence laws)

If you are dead set on getting live TV, consider some other packages like FreeSat and even cable can be more cost effective than Sky.

I am no apologist for Sky but your erroneous sweeping generalisation is hardly backed up when you quote programmes that are not made by or exclusively shown on the Sky platform.

For some people to watch what they wish to watch Sky is the only option.

I suspect though that the OP is more concerned about the loss of Sky broadband.

sorry, what I mean is that there is no broadband.

just been chatting to Sky.

Apparently I can get something called Broadband Connect - they use a 3rd party broadband to provide the same service, however it will cost £17 a month.

That seems a bit steep?
Won't they do it half price or even free for a while just to keep you?

You can use Sky's On Demand with any broadband provider.

I would have a look at other options if Sky are offering Connect for £17 (plus the line rental)

It is not unlimited for that price either which may be an issue for you.
