Checked, and the BIOS version is the most updated one.0

Why would it want 24 amps on post? If it was a PSU problem it would be blue screening in game.
I don't know the reason, but i have seen the symptoms before and the PSU was the problem.
Since the graphics card has been confirmed to work by someone else, and the pc boots fine with another graphics card by process of elimination there isn't much left. All your base are belong to us.0 -
i also think the PSU could be DOA, the new PSU should have more than enough power to handle your system so it suggests that one of the rails is screwy (which can happen with anything) or that the company that 'tested' the GPU didnt actually do anything - could the friend that lent you their GPU test the 660ti in their system to make sure it works with them?
having looked at the power draw of a overclocked 3570k with 8gb of ram and a 660ti (custom PC mag issue 119 august 2013 page 82) you are only looking at a 'at the wall' draw of under 300 watts, now the psu suggested earlier (the be quite pure power 530) has a power rating of 530w and a effciency rating of 80+ meaning it can reliabably provide 424 watts of power without any issues so the GPU will not be drawing more power than the PSU can provide, unless the PSU is a duff oneDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
How much power does that particular PSU put out on the +12V rail? Some of the cheaper ones dump all the power into +3.3V or +5V which is basically worthless.0

if its the one i linked earlier http://www.scan.co.uk/products/530w-be-quiet!-pure-power-l8-bn181-modular-88-eff-80-plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-quiet-fan-atx then 28amp on rail 2 and 20 amp on rail 2, it is also the custom pc / bit tech recommended PSU for £1000 gaming pc build so is pretty good and well testedDrop a brand challenge

Shall try and get it tested. I'm honestly not trusting of Novatech now at all, having tried to deal with them.0

Might have solved what caused it, might not.
