1p Ryanair flights + taxes?

Im hearing a rumour that the 1p flights from last week might not be as attractive as first thought.
Relatives of a friend booked to Pisa at 1p per seat but when they got to the airport they had to pay something like £80 in taxes?
Is this right?
I was under the impression that the prices were inclusive of taxes?
I have booked to Milan, and have the confirmation email with details of what was paid. Can I expect an £80 bill when I get to the airport?

I don't know for sure, but I would say that this is rubbish. There just aren't the facilities at the airport to collect such an amount from every customer.
When did your friends book? If it was prior to the government tax introduction, and they did not pay this online, then they would have had to pay it at the airport.
By the way, links are not allowed in your signature.Gone ... or have I?0 -
They booked in the last week as part of the 1 million seats for 1p promotion.
I have removed the link, thanks for letting me know.0 -
How can you posibly think 1p would be inclusive of taxes?Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned
and the last fish has been caught
will we realise we cannot eat money0 -
Because that's what the offer said.0

I don't believe that for a second, sorry.
Taxes go to the government, and are obligatory, not set by the airlines. Are you telling me Ryanair would fly passengers to Europe for 1p plus pay the government £50-odd in taxes for the privilege?Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned

There were only certain destinations and only from four UK airports where the fares were 1p and NO TAXES.
It was a genuine offer and loads of people on these boards grabbed them.
I bagged a return from E.Mids to Dublin
total cost taken from my bank account 2p.
Which I`ve heard could even be refunded to me at the airport because it was actually a free flight but for technical reasons Ryanair had to take a payment.
So Pablo you missed a real bargain free flight from Michael.0 -

Ah right, domestic flight I have no idea about whether the same tax regulations apply, thanks.
I wouldn't fly Ryanair anyway. I have principles.Only when the last tree has died

The only money Ryanair takes at airports is for excess weight / excess bags.
Otherwise the booking price is the final price - until they start offering food, scratchcards, tokens to use the toilet...0 -
interesting to hear how pablo can consider they have principles by just not flying ryanair?0
