there is table tennis, a pool table and a large chess board, across the road is a new play area, there is some grass here, so the lads could have a kick about.
There is a supermarket located 2 mins walk away, so you can get cheap food.
look at tripadvisor for reviews.
feel free to ask any more questions.
We stopped there last year [October] and it is a very nice place and cheap too.
I found the rooms way too hot though, we hired one of their fans which was pretty useless. In the end I went and bought a new one from the electrical place down the road - it was cheaper than the hire charge for the useless one.
I'd definitely go back if only they'd put in some decent cooling. They apparently do have portable AC units but they were all out when we were there.0 -

if not let me know what you fancy doing, ie what bars you like, do you want to see any artists at night, what type of restaurants, will you be doing any shopping for food when you get there, as I can tell you where the cheap Spanish supermarket it, the one over the road from ps3 is good but it's expensive etc and I will try and point you in the right direction.
Thanks Chris we will be catering ourselves so the cheaper supermarket would be great, as for food the kids will eat pretty much anything we give them so a good choice of Spanish and English on the menu would be good as we do have one stick in the mud who doesn't 'do' foreign :rotfl: We are not really into 'entertainments' preferring a quiet drink and sit and chat we often go beach walking at night when its quieter. any info though appreciated.#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Hi
We recently returned from a week at the Andorra aparthotel 3* main building, not the 2 star apartments, the only reason i wouldn't stay in the apartments this time of year, they don't have aircon, which the main building does, We stayed on B&B bases, which was very good, as even though we had breakfast, we still had a small kitchen, with a hob and fridge, no microwave kettle or toaster, but better than nothing, We thought it was in a good position, not far from both Los Cristianos and Las Americas, we where on the 5th floor, with a side seaview, the hotel is on a busy roundabout, there was a loose manhole cover/grid, which was very annoying as every car seemed to go over it, and for people on that side of hotel on lower floors would have been worse, but i just used earplugs as i am a light sleeper, the noise didn't bother my husband, We hadn't been to Tenerife for a long time, but really enjoyed it and will definitely be looking to return to the Andorra in the future, very reasonable prices.0 -
Still haven't booked yet any other suggestions, and which site is the best to book from :j0

thanks for all you replies so far still very undecided :rotfl:0

My colleague has just reurned from a week in PDLA, says he couldnt believe how expensive the place has become. He said 4 euro a pint was the norm in most places and as they were half board they would only be looking for a snack lunch time (a toastie or a baked potato etc) which would usually set them back around 30 euros for the 2 of them by the time they bought a drink or two each too.
He's a regular Tenerife holidayer and he said he really saw the difference this year - does anyone else agree?0 -
@blondie why you still undecided.
@pingufan wow your mate certainly does not know the best value places to eat lunch at, 30 euros for snacks, we don't pay that for evening meals out at restaurants. .
here is some egs.
breakfast
El Cedro full English with coffee 2.85 euros, advertised this price at loads of places.
lunch
players lounge overlooking the sea, a pint 1.5 euros a toastie 3.5 euros
kandi lounge overlooking the sea, a pint 1 euro a toastie 3.5 euros. cheesy chips 3 euros mmm, sunday and Thursdays have afternoon entertainment on as well.
raymonds, half a roast chicken, chips, salad, choice of drink, pint small glass of wine, or small coke 4. 95 euros
evening meals
all u can eat Chinese at merlins 7 euros a large coke 3 euros.
3 course set meal (not massive portions) without drink 8 euros, various places, a drink would add another 3 euros on
fish chips n mushy peas 7 euros at giddy goose, again a pint 3 euros.
Mama rossas 3 course meal 35 euros each, but it's wonderful settings in a fantastic restaurant.
gran Valencia paella, lamb chops with chips n salad 7 euros for 9 yes 9 lamb chops.
martinis
2 starters 10 euros , stuffed mushrooms and fried cheese
2 mains, 1 pasta 1 steak 20 euros
1 bottle of wine 12 euros.
42 euros total.
(search these restaurants on tripadvisor and you'll see)
Drink prices.
small bars with no entertainment on, advertise a pint for 1 euros, goes up to 2 euros at night,
a quiet bar with background music on, ie marquee bar at night is 2 euros a pint, 2.5 euros for a spirit with a dash, extra if you want the full bottle of coke or tonic.
a bar with entertainment on, ie brahams and lizte, 4 euros for a pint of lager, 5 euros for a large vodka and a bottle of mixer.
all bars that evening entertainment on are more expensive at night, can't be selling a pint for a euro and paying for the turn, so be prepared to pay 3 or 4 euros for a pint in these places.
Cider in not available at lots of places on draught, as is john smiths and the black stuff, so it comes in cans, which can be up to 5 euros. ouch
Yes soft drinks are more expensive, don't know why but it's always the case abroad.
Would love to know where your mate paid 30 euros for a snack from, will you ask him please?
We've found no difference in price this year than we did for the past 4 or 5.0 -

Even right on the front, somewhere like Fados does a 3 course lunch for €10.95
Further along at PDLA, Chouky's 1/2 chicken chips and salad lunch is about the same.
I don't bother searching out the cheapest places but €10-15 for a good lunch is the norm on the front.0 -
@mcfisco, your right, although as we go s/c I'm happy with breakfast and a evening meal out. That does me. So I've no need for a lunch.
But pingufan stated that their mate was paying 30 euros for a toastie or baked potato with a drink, for me 30 euros is well over the odds for this. And would be interested to know where sells this for 30 euros.0 -

I've no idea where they paid that sort of money, I bet it was quiet though
I don't bother much with breakfast and either have a big lunch and light dinner or the other way round
Even going for a blow out dinner at somewhere like the Watermelon gets me change from €70 for the two of us, I'm so full after that I need a taxi to get back, so that's another €4
