Saint Chris
You seem to have great knowledge of places in tenerife, and all your recommendations are greatly recieved,
don't suppose any of them have a kind of sports area as my lads are mad on footy and 2 weeks not
kicking a ball would drive them mad :mad:0 -
Parque Cristobal and Malibu Park certainly have football pitches/courts0

Hi
over the years we have gone to las Americas 4 times a year, we now have a apt out there, and we go as often as work and flight prices will let us....lol
Malibu park for me is the wrong side of the motorway, you would be faced with cardiac hill to go up and down each day.
Parque Cristabol which for me is in a lovely location, would be my choice out of the 2.
Playa de las Americas is massive, there is
Los cristianos, which is pretty, but at night it can be pretty quiet, our friends who stayed there spent most of the time getting taxis into las Americas.
For me the best beach is las vistas, which is the promenade between los c and las amricas, it's a lovely long stretch of beach, with some great restaurants behind it in the san telmo area.
Then there is the area next to las Americas, around the safari shopping centre, it's got lovely cocktail bars and restaurants, some are not cheap, but there are some reasonable priced eating establishments around here. There is the strip, which is a row of bars, underneath the parque de la paz hotel, most have evening entertainment on at night. There is a crazy golf area around here.
Facing the parque Cristobel there is the patch, this is a small square of a few bars and restaurants running down to the sea, further along is leonardos bars, this has a artist on at night, and has free game for the kids to play at the back of the bar.
Next to this is vivos, which at the back has the best crazy golf our grandkids loved it .
Then there is veronicas and starcos the clubbing area, don't worry during the day it's that small you can miss it, but at night it comes alive, but you can be 5 mins away from it and never know it's there.
The next area for me is a bit quiet, from veronicas down to the bouganvilla hotel, it's quite spread out, with a bit of a hill, and bars are spread out, although the walk along the coast road down geranimum way is lovely.
Then you come to san eugino area, ( where laguna park 1 is), this is a busy area with plenty of bars and restaurants, down the hill is pueto colon, the small nice beach, with a harbour.
At the back of san eugino is san eugino alto this is the other side of the motorway, and like I said up cardiac hill.
Further on you come to adeje, this is a nice beach, on the flat, with plenty of bars reataurants, there is those trampolines that the kids go in and spring up in the air, there is crazy golf, and some scooters that can be hired to ride up and down the prom.
Then you can continue to walk, down to del duque beach, I've never stayed down this end, as it's a lot of the bigger hotels (too expensive for me..lol), but we do walk down here it's a lovely walk.
There is loads of things to do during the day, you could go to
Siam Park, best waterpark in Europe
jungle park, your right up near the white tigers and the bird show at 12 is fab
monkey park just outside of los c, get a taxi early morning, as the monkeys like to have a siesta, take some fruit and they will eat out of your hands.
go-karting, just at the back of los c there is a go karting place, I've never done it, too old....lol
loro park, the main tourist attraction in Tenerife, takes about an hour on the coach, but well worth it.
El Tiede, you can do a day or half day tour up the volcano
boats trips, plenty of them advertised in the shops.
day out to the island or la gomera, going over on the ferry and spending the day on the island,
horse riding into the hills, I've never done this, but I believe it's good.
I,m not up on football courts at complex's but I do know that
the la siesta has one. (along with rifle shooting, billards, a dart board) but again it's a lovely hotel but not cheap.
hotel ponderosa also does
park club Europe is lovely,
the gran oasis resort is a lovely family complex
I can't really help with the football pitch, as it's not my thing,
here is a map to help you, I like the area around D8

PS 3 and 4 are both lovely complex's, nextdoor to each other, you can use the facilities at both, I prefer 4, there's a good play area with slides for the kids at 3.
Come out of 3 &4 cross over the road and there's loads of bars and restaurants on your door, loads of restaurants above the safari shopping centre. And the strip at the back of the safari center is good for nightlife.
come out of the back of 3 &4 and walk 5 mins to the left and there is the lovely del camison beach, or a further 10 min walk and your at the massive las vistas beach.0 -
loving your replies got to do a lot of hotel comparing,
thanks for all your posts please feel free to suggest more :T0 -
Number 1 on my list for accommodation, is the marola portosin, it's in a quiet but lovely area, a 10 min walk away from the las vistas beach, and 10 mins to the safari centre, the apts are lovely, the pool area great,
there is table tennis, a pool table and a large chess board, across the road is a new play area, there is some grass here, so the lads could have a kick about.
There is a supermarket located 2 mins walk away, so you can get cheap food.
look at tripadvisor for reviews.
feel free to ask any more questions.0 -
Thankyou for putting my mind at rest , looks like my daughter made a good choice and I won't have to go far on my dodgy hip to enjoy the beach...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

@tanith, have you been to las Americas before?
if not let me know what you fancy doing, ie what bars you like, do you want to see any artists at night, what type of restaurants, will you be doing any shopping for food when you get there, as I can tell you where the cheap Spanish supermarket it, the one over the road from ps3 is good but it's expensive etc and I will try and point you in the right direction.0
