BT unlimited broadband

Options
This year I have had a monthly broadband 40GB and phone package with BT. I recently received an email from them advising me that I was going close to my monthly broadband limit. When I phoned BT about it, they told me that I could have unlimited broadband for £2 cheaper a month!! When I asked why unlimited would be cheaper than 40GB I was told that over the last two months they have been making themselves more competitive with the other communications companies so they have brought the prices down. I am sure plenty of customers are unaware of this situation as I don't believe it has been advertised! BT told me that they would charge me £5 for every 5GB extra ( over the 40GB) that I use. There must be other customers paying extra on limited packages who do not know that they can now get unlimited for cheaper!

I am with O2 at present who have just sold the BB part to SKY..

Thinking of going to BT with the Infinity (Cable to the Box) Speeds upto 76mb.

I wonder what their download limit is though. We easily exceed 100GB a month.

  • If they truly believe £16/mth for unlimited broadband is 'more competitive' than previously, exactly how uncompetitive were they before??:D

Be careful - you may find that with the unlimited BB you lose some of the existing phone package that you have
