Aye, what's to say the type of person being referred to is in fact 'being consumed by their inner mind', rather than merely being a steady, sensible and economical driver?
Pipping your horn at somebody simply because they set off slowly from sets of traffic lights and crawl towards the next set of lights is ridiculous, aggressive and wholly unnecessary.
People have different driving styles, if you get angry because they don't adopt the same style as you, then frankly you shouldn't be on the road, menacing others.
I suspect the poster in question is also the type of driver to sit up your ar5e when you're doing 50 in a 60 or 29 in a 30.0 -

A light crawler is one of those dumb arsed idiots that set off slowly from one set of green lights and crawl towards the next set thinking they are a genius who times it exactly so they change when they arrive .
In fact the second lights have a loop in the road which detects your wheels and changes accordingly so the opposite set of lights gets to stay green if no traffic enters the box from the first lights.
So, you time nothing, sorry but you are just a thick tw4t that has prevented the other 15 or so cars behind you from entering the box between the two sets of lights and benefiting from the next green light, behind you is a metal snail of cars and someone brave enough to point out the stupidity of light crawling with the horn.:mad::mad::mad:
Would just like to know something.....
When at traffic lights, I almost always sit on the handbrake, but unlike most drivers (apparently) I watch the other lights, when they go red, I lift the handbrake and start to move, this means i'm already moving when my lights change to green, I cross the line on green and no harm done.
Would this be what your referring to? because if it is, you can do one

Well today i was driving to work, some driver sitting in fast lane doing 60mph, so as i was in the left lane doing 70mph, i just continued driving as normal. I passed said car, then indicated into the ast lane to overtake a lorry, then all of a sudden i'm getting all kinds of gestures from the car in fast lane. Next thing when i return to left hand lane, driver comes up alongside me and takes my picture??? Surely if he is getting evidence of me doing anything wrong, he was in even more wrong by using a camera whilst driving? This was also quite a big (dslr/bridge) camera, not even mobile phone or snap camera.£10 A Day In June £350.83/£300July £618.81/£310

I came across a hilarious story like this a year or so back, some guy pulled out a camera to take a photo of someone who'd overtaken them, he was so distracted taking the photo, that a few minutes later he didn't react quickly enough to cars ahead braking and he slammed straight into the car that he was trying to photograph. :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Taking the actual legislation as read - I've always worked on the principle that the horn is there to indicate your presence to other road users who may not be aware of it. So Strider is quite right...Strider590 wrote: »I also used it recently approaching a parked car, with children and adults visible inside, the road was narrow and I didn't want them opening a door into me.
In fact, most of the times I use it, is when approaching junctions or driveways where I feel a driver might pull out without being able to see me.
One thing I've noticed in the last 6 months is drivers (often van drivers) who do it when turning left into a side road to alert pedestrians. Now IIRC, the law has changed so that a pedestrian now has priority if they are already crossing. Equally, I see plenty of pedestrians who blunder straight across a side road without looking in any direction at all.
So has anyone else seen/heard this or is it just a local phenomenon? Is it a good idea? Does the horn risk confusing/irritating other drivers as well as alerting the iPodded pedestrian?I need to think of something new here...0 -

I've seen/heard this, but it's very rare around here.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
