Want refund on diamond ring

I suspect that whatever she was doing that damaged the ring would damage any other diamond ring as well, so exchanging it is unlikely to be a solution. If she dislikes it because she is afraid it might get damaged, then she needs to get insurance against damage. Of course, if the problem is the person who bought it for her then insurance won't really work!
