Wish I hadn't read this. My baby is going in to be spayed in July, do they need to wear one for that. Can't remember as it was so long ago my other baby was done. x
It'll just depend on your !!!!!, I've never had a problem with !!!!!es licking their spay site . I've always found those blow up collars handy to have around, and at just over a tenner , won't break the bank.

Yes you are so right, I will get one now in prep. Took me a sec to work out all those ! Thank you :T0 -
I've had confirmation from amazon that the collar will be delivered tomorrow, so I will report back. She's had a good go at getting the cone off today but she cannot get near her wound to lick it. She's had some painkillers so she's a bit quieter now.0

Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

My Lenny had his tail amputated a few weeks ago and he also absolutely hated the cone, he was miserable and just slept all day! I did buy one of those blow up collars however he could stoll reach his tail end so had to be sent back!
I think when he has "the op" the collar will be just fine as it does restrict them quite a bit! Will need a bigger one by them anyway as he's still only 14 weeks old so will have grown quite a lot!0 -
Ok, so the collar s here. She's wearing it now and so far so good. She hasn't attempted to reach her bottom, but time will tell. All I know is, that she was instantly happier the moment the cone came off and the collar went on.0

Poppy was spayed last week and I bought her a medical pet shirt to wear which has been great. She can't get to her stitches with it on, although it is a little big. If the affected area is further down towards the tail it would need to be tighter to be effective.
She has been totally relaxed in it - I just roll it up or remove it when I take her out for a toilet break.
