@perni - Yes, re ally's comment about festival stewarding....the festival we've just been to always asks for volunteer stewards & you get a free weekend ticket. We've never done it but my partner is potentially interested. I felt a bit bad saying what a nice festival weekend we'd had when you are so wanting to go & not able to. We wouldn't have been able to justify the expense this year if it wasn't for the fact that I saved & cashed in all our Co-op dividend points, inc. the Christmas bonus & this paid for 2 weekend tickets. Luckily it's a nearby festival so minimal travel costs & we took most of our own food. Saving of dividend points has started again as of this week so we can aim to go again next year.......although if the threat of redundancy becomes actual redundancy, it'll have to be used for something else. Hope you do manage a nice night away somewhere, but if it's not to be this year, then your time will come. We've been pondering getting a night's/cheap weekend city break by staying in a budget hotel chain......Fri-Sun works out a lot more expensive than typing in Sun to Tues, so we're going to have a closer look at that. Probably that's really obvious to lots of people on here, but we hadn't sussed it! In the meantime, it's camping plans for us, & I'm making all sorts of stuff to tart up the tent to make it more of a 'glamping' experience without the glamping budget, of course.....

How about becoming a mystery shopper for a hotel chain?

Or wild camping in Scotland? (Link) (Link2)

Or a Sun newspaper £15 holiday? They do the offer often. Search the newspaper offers Forum for details. (Link)

Or one of those hotel deals where you get to choose the City you stay in but not the actual hotel, just it's star rating, dates and price you pay. I think LateDeals do these, or was it Hotels.com?

Or a Travelodge Saver Room deal? (Link)

Or a Premier Inn Autumn deal? (Link)

    Or house swapping?
