That's my idea of a good wedding, informal, no stuffy 'got to do's', no pomp, just genuine love and sharing.

    Congratulations to you both.

This is a link to 'My 3k Wedding Thread' where I show how I made them.

I can't remember total cost but the small foam roses were around 99p for 2 bunches of 6, and the larger cream foam roses were around £10 for 24.

I didn't initially want flowers, but my MOH and BM said they would feel funny walking down the aisle with nothing in their hands so I made these, they took about 5mins each to put together, I was going to wrap the stems in a green florist tape, but in the end didn't bother.

I will update the final figure on my 3k wedding thread sometime in the next week or two, so you can see how I fared (or failed :rotfl:).

I thought they were the foam roses, I love the look of them! I think for me, they'll fare better with travelling (to the venue the night before etc) than fresh ones would. Well done on making the bouquets yourself! They look really professional....new business opportunity there lol! Seriously though, a lot of people sell them on EBay and Etsy don't they?

So far, our wedding is still under a thousand pounds, but there is only the 5 of us going! :rotfl: To do all that you did for under 3k is amazing!

Him and my MOH are stunning together, I'd never noticed before but she messaged me to see if I would mind her using a picture of them two as her profile pic and then when I looked I thought WOW they are stunning together :rotfl: she's tall and dark and goes with his all year round wet-suit tan, whereas i'm short, blonde and plain.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Short and blonde yes, plain is not a description I'd have thought of from seeing your wedding photos. You look great and it looks like everything went as you planned, congratulations.

You're hardly plain! Far from it. You look a gorgeous couple on your Wedding photographs!

I don't know how I'd feel if one of my best friends wanted to use a pic of her and my new hubby? :(

eeeeeee I didn't mind in the slightest! I even trimmed it and made it look even better with effects etc for her.

They do make a fabulous couple, when I saw the photo I was like 'omg you two are gorgeous together'!

A few people have messaged her saying what that her date to the wedding and that they thought she was still single :rotfl:

:rotfl: You are so laid back! I'd be like "are you trying to pass him off as your own?!" :rotfl: But I guess in a way that's a complement!

Are you off anywhere for your honeymoon now?

DH (eeeeeeeee I can use that now :T) was in charge of the honeymoon. I didn't want to knw anything about where we going etc as it was to be a surprise.

The guy did good! (and bad....) we are off to South Africa, travelling around Cape Town and the Winelands (staying in a gorgeous chateau for a couple of nights) and then on to Dubai. HOWEVER............... I have to wait to December  I know

I love it hot hot hot and even though it would be low 20s in July (when we could have gone) it will be hotter in December (as it's their summer) so I can see his thinking.

Can't help thinking he made me wait 8 years for the wedding and now 7 months for the honeymoon :rotfl:

I'm off with DD to Gibralter in August - does that count as a honeymoon or does the groom have to go :rotfl:
