Newbies on the Comping Board

Any chance newbies could also be banned from starting threads for a set amount of posts on the Comps board? (in addition to not being able to post links).

There seems to be a large amount of newbies going on there either spamming, opening multiple threads, asking others to post links to competitions up because they are not allowed, duplicating threads that are already posted, self promoting etc.

Is there any way they could be allowed to comment on other threads (ie if they need to ask questions) but not be allowed to start a new thread on the main comp listing board for a set period of time, or is that impossible?? ie can you take away the 'new thread' button??!!

:)

It only seems like a good idea. The price you will pay is that they will carry on regardless and post what they want to post on any random thread. The cure is worse than the disease IMO
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

That wouldn't matter, posts on random threads in the comp section would not cause any disruption to the main comp listing board and they would not achieve any legitimacy/the results they want.

Bumping a thread which is 6 months old, dead and buried is worse than posting a new thread - because you have to read through some of it - dead though it is - before you come to the conclusion that it is just a noob doing all the annoying things.

It's not how the comping section works so it wouldn't matter and they would not be getting what they want.

I think newbies should not be able to post comps until the have read the guide on the first page and "ticked a box" to state that they have read and understood how to post.

It wouldn't stop self promotion but would help with newbies posting without end dates etc
