Switching early from 02 to Sky in first 12 months?

Hi All,

I'm an 02 Broadband customer who has received a letter from Sky offering me the free broadband and Sky offer to switch early.

I would like to do this, but i've only been with 02 a few months, they gave me an M&S giftcard and money off my 02 mobile bill.

Even though they have been bought by Sky (broadband provision anyway) I have a feeling I cant switch early because i'll be in my minimum 12 months. If i'm correct could I argue this in any way since i'll be forceably switched in a couple of months as it is?

I received one if those letters too. My contract ends in July but small print in back of letter says offer only open until 28th June. Waiting on response from Sky on this. Two people i spoke to so far not been very helpfull. Assume you will have to pay early termination charge despite them being sold to sky.

No, you can switch without penalty if the Sky offer is more favourable.
You are not breaking any minimum term, since your O2 contract is now assigned to Sky.

Sky told me i would have to pay an early termination charge to O2. Looks like no one at Sky knows whats going on!
