Parking - change in marked spaces

Good morning experts.
I'm a keen reader of this forum but have only posted a couple of times. Hoping you can help with a query on parking.
I bought a leasehold flat (new lease, recently converted building). There are a total of 7 flats in the building, 3 2-beds and 4 1-beds. When negotiating on the flat, we were informed that only the 2-beds would have their own specific parking spaces.
At the time, the 'drive' was graveled with no defined marking for parking. However, the lease had highlighted 3 parking spaces (labelled 1,2 and 6 on the plan - relating to the 3 2-bed flats). Per the plan, I'm entitled to exclusive use of space 6 (next to an exterior wall, adjacent to the road).
This week, the gravel drive has been tarmac'd over. Now 5 spaces have been marked out, but none of them relate to my original space on the lease plan (all spaces are perpendicular to the building, none adjacent to the road).
My question is - do I need to speak to my lawyer to have the lease plan amended? The plan shows a space which I can no-longer park in and my concern is this could impact on re-sale value if I don't have exclusive use of one of the spaces.

Yes, you need to resolve this
a) you may have parking problems, since you no longer have a reserved space and
b) you may (will?) have issues when you come to sell & the buyer queries the lease
Initially I would write a (friendly) letter to the freeholder &/or management company, enclosing a copy of your lease (or at least the relevant page) & the Plan, and explain.
Either
* the original parking spot needs to be re-instated, or
* the lease needs to be changed (at their cost!) to give you a new spot or
* you need to be compensated for loss of a reserved space (& who knows what the monetary value of this is.....?)0 -

I have spoken to the management agency just now and they have confirmed we have a specific allocated space & they will be operating a permit system (where they will shortly issue permits & a parking plan to all flats). They've also said I will be able to install a parking post albeit at my own cost.
Have also dropped my lawyer an email around getting the lease plan amended etc. As you point out this will be essential for future resale etc0 -
have a read of the lease. it may say they landlord can change your parking space. in which case a letter and copy of new plan with both copies of the lease will suffice and lease won't actually need amending at land reg etc, (because that is likely to need deed of variation)0

You should ensure that the new spot is as good as, if not better than, previous. In something like this, it can be very subjective, but you have a right to that.0

Did they not inform you of the changes before they happened? Will you be expected to pay for the work?Note: Unless otherwise stated, my property related posts refer to England & Wales. Please make sure you state if you are discussing Scotland or elsewhere as laws differ.0
