Bad title. Couldn't figure out how to delete the thread. If you're on the pill, people can and do get pregnant, yes? How do they know if they still get monthly spottings? If they don't know and they keep taking the pill, is the baby harmed?
If pregnant, how soon do you have to inform employers?
Thanks! Ax
PS As far as I know, I remain child free. Just doing some forward planning.

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/ate/womenshealth/207193.html "Taking the Pill while unwittingly being pregnant will cause no problems"
there are other symptoms of pregnancy apart from the lack of periods
sickness, heartburn, metallic taste, sore boobs ,weight gain to name a few !
so even if you still have periods / spottings ,you could get one / all of the other pregnancy symptoms0 -
I cant really help with your question, but i just wanted to poke my nose in and say please dont let yahoo answers be your guide on anything too serious....
there are some real idiots on there!
if your worried you are better off phoning a doctor for advice.
seriously... some of the replies ive seen people get on Yahoo are ridiculous!
(as are some of the questions i suppose
) 0 -
is that link better

I know someone who had two babies while she was still on the pill, and they were both fine!
As I've said before (in other places), name a method of contraception and I'll name a baby I know born while the parents were using it! APART from post-female sterilisation, which I've only heard about on the radio!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
You don't have to tell your employer until you receive your MATB1 form from a midwife at 26 weeks-chances are they may have guessed by then anyway though.
You're also entitled to paid time off for maternity related appointments too.
The best way to put the mind at rest is to do a test, then the person will know one way or the other what they're dealing with.
hope all is ok0 -
taking the pill doesnt harm, but if you want to be extra sure, stop taking it, and start taking folic acid supplements..... if your not expecting you can always start taking it again.....
if you do have to start taking the pill again, you dont have to wait until the first day of your peroid..... it just means u will have to take extra care (condoms) for the first week....
if you get to 12 weeks.... its generally said you can go and tell people... as the threat of miscarriage has passed....0 -
or to word it differently.... upto 12 weeks is the most likey time u will miscarry....0

Oh im going to put the fear into everyone now! I was on the pill when i concieved the pixie (as i like to call him)... I didnt miss a period for 6 months as i was still taking it. I only found out I was preggers by chance... I had a pain in my tummy and couldnt work out what it was. Went to see my dr, who said 'lay down on the bed missus', felt my tummy, called another dr in, who also felt my tummy, and then he said 'um, take a seat'... He told me I was 6 months pregnant, I passed out, woke up, threw up, and i swear to god i dont even remember the next three days I was in such a mess...You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
