Do i send them a letter regarding this or just speak to them on the phone?

I'd try phoning them first. They probably aren't aware of the situation.

They should be told about bad service from their approved repairers.

Try phoning a Honda dealer that is nothing to do with the accident repairer, and find out the availability of a genuine part.

I rang honda customer contact centre the 0845 number they said I will need to visit a Honda dealer who can check what the problem is and tell me solution there and then and there is very little they can do on the phone.

I rang http://www.lingshondaparts.com/ they said the part is made in Spain or France and they don't have any in stock atm and there is also no ETA on their system regarding when any will be available. The guy on the phone gave me the part number above and wished me luck in finding a brand new part...

I mean for me i don't mind if its a used item from a scrap yard as long as it fits perfectly and isn't loose like mine right now.

This probably explains the delay from the repairer then.

You might be better off putting in a complaint to Honda.

Insurance companies don't like using second hand, or cheap patent parts.

THey have told you that the problem is they cannot get the parts at present.

Your repairer cannot magic them, so there is no point blaming them.

You have no one else to complain to!

Because they are the ones who aren't supplying the parts.

I understand where you two are coming from as they are the ones who should have it in the market but there is plenty of second hand ones in the market and I am happy to use those part to repair my car with as i don't think it would make any difference would this be considered?
